Vas pps is a Powerpoint file. The problem with Office 2004 is that theres no Publisher or equivalent of it. aqualeviathan
Hi aqualeviathan why is there such an issue about Publisher ? Why do you need publisher ? Vas I don't need it at the moment; it's just that opening Publisher files on OSX is what this thread is about. I'm interested in finding a solution just in case I ever encounter the problem myself. Adobe explains here that to open MSPublisher files on a Mac you need PageMaker (Only works under Classic ) InDesign is unable to read Microsoft Publisher files. PageMaker includes a utility that is able to convert Publisher files to PageMaker format, which InDesign can open. The Converter for Microsoft Publisher/QuarkXPress 4.0 can convert documents created with Publisher 98 and Publisher 2000; Converter for Microsoft Publisher 1.5 can convert documents created with Publisher 95 and Publisher 97. I don't know if PageMaker Windows has the same utility. But you could use the utility under SheepShaver for the Mac OS Classic tool or Darwine for the Windows tool. Or use Publisher under Darwine and export the PUB files under the EMF format as explained here.
