LokiChaos
Hi, I've managed to get the mach_kernel installed into / (i think), i'm trying to get the CG-libSys-SSE3to2.sh to install but it keeps complaining with Permission Denied for all the patch parts, then tells me Finished Please Restart. I dont think this is right but if it is cool. I'm also trying to get the oah750 installed but it says Segmentation Fault. Please help. i'm running Intel Celeron 2.8 ghz SSE SSE2, in VMware. ( may try and force it to work on my AMD processor - doubt that will work thou.) Thanks me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/562-sse3-to-sse2-patching/ Share on other sites

LokiChaos
I put sudo in front of xyz.sh and it now says No such file or directory for both parts of the patch of CG. LokiChaos
oki doki, think i got it sorted. Whats the point of the oah750 file? anyways i got iTunes working. just gotta find a driver for my wireless card and get some sound going. btw im not sure if it will work for anyone else but instead of sudo <CD>/oah750 /usr/libexec/oah/ in the terminal windows. I did this instead cp <TheVolumeOfTheoah750file>/oah750 /usr/libexec/oah/ and it copied it without complaing --- if anyone can help with this problem it would be appreicated. - got my pc and tried to start it up did it once added some RAM to it now the PC starts but with no image on the moniter. yup ive tried taking the RAM out and yup i've ripped the motherboard out yup ive tried another graphics card and ive also tried the moniter on my laptop. gargarxp
Well, as far as changing the password is concerned: I found the password for the deadmoo (curtis) account, it is bovinity. What I did was, in Terminal.app, I did 'passwd root'. It asked for the password for 'curtis', which I assume under OSX means that one of the admin accounts *becomes* root (interesting). Anyway, I typed in the correct password, and it asked for the new pass. Before, I was just hitting enter cuz I wanted it to be blank. Well, that is a no-no on Unix-like security setups. (note that I am a seasoned Windows user, where blanking the Admin. password is allowed, essentially bending your system over a table with its pants down and a big sign that says 'Rape Me Here' and bright, colorful LED-encrusted arrows all over the sign, flashing violently). It wasn't until I actually entered a password that it worked. Then, in terminal 'su' and enter that new password, or do your 'sudo'. Only then will the script have the proper permissions to execute successfully. As far as the oah750 fault is concerned, I really am unsure about this because as far as I know it didnt happen to me. or maybe I just wasnt paying attention. Hope something here was useful... snevets-t
Anyone run into this one? Setup OSX Natively no problem, twice in fact. I setup an HFS Partition on a separate 10GB hdd, and used the dd command to install the image onto the drive. I choose the drive I want to boot to at startup and OSX loads no problem. That being said, when I installed the SSE2 to SSE3 patch the system freezes and will not boot normally. I can only boot into safeboot and of course no sound. And after all that iTunes still will not run. The oah750, oah750d and the mach_kernel patches both copy fine using sudo cp command. I'm scratching my head here cause I see the success others are having and I'm not sure what gives. Just a bit about my system for those that may have a clue whats up: Systems an HP d220 MT (I know what your thinking!) and has all the normally compatable components, intel chipset, intel onboard video Vesa 3.0 Soundmax sound, celeron 2.4 ghz SSE2. hope ya can help!
