Hello,

Is there anyway to get the eject button in the top of the finder bar to work?

Here is my spec

10.4.8 JaS SSE2 SSE3

Pentium D 915 | Intel D945GTP | GMA950 | 1GB DDR2 | 80GB SATA 2 | Sony DRU DVD-RW | Lite-on CD-RW

Both drives function well and the eject key on the keyboard works, but I can't use the button in the top of the finder.

Cheers.

i have your set up and i don't have an eject button in the finder bar...if you can't eject your media by dragging it to the trash can, which turns in to eject button...try holding down the F12 key for two seconds and you should be fine...

In my experience, the OSX PPC menu bar eject button is OK with multiple optical drives...you get a drop down menu asking which drive to eject.

However, the OSX Intel menu bar eject button seems to choke/play dead (at least on hackintoshes) with multiple optical drives.

You might try temporarily disconnected one of your optical drives and see if that is your issue too.

If so, don't know of a fix...maybe Leopard ???

Hey there!

The easiest way to nuke that null "eject" button is to drag it off the top menubar.

Just like the dock, it'll *poof* it's way out.

It's a script for ejecting, but my guess is that it has something to do with floppy drives being recognized as removeable media.

I had that button on my home desktop (with a floppy) but not my Compaq notebook (no floppy).

Just my $.02, but I dragged that little guy and poofed it into the netherworld ;)
