Nope, doesn't work. And even if it did, it wouldn't really be that usefull because of all those artifacts and other bugs related to these early alpha/beta-stage ati drivers.

Hmm, what bugs? I have an x300 that runs great - full CI & QE. I found a fix for the mouse tears on another forum that did the trick. I have run nearly every major Mac app that I can get my hands on and this system's video is just about flawless. The only "bug" that I've heard of, and it does not effect operations at all, is the mis-idenification of the bus type - e.g. PCI instead of AGP.

hi,

could you please give a link to that forum?

i´ll try to get a x800 working and maybe that fix will work for me too... how did you get your x300 working?

thanks!

Use the search capability to find items within THIS forum. My "fix" was to simply upgrade from 10.4.1 to 10.4.3 8f1099 - the x300 was picked up automatically. As for the Mouse tracks - search these forums for my posts and there is a pointer there to another board with the solution.

  • 2 years later...

I am looking to get an x850 pci-e card fully working in Leopard with QE/CI, dvi and dual display.

If there is anyone interested in working on a fully capable kext for Leopard 10.5.1 and/or 10.5.2 and anyone willing to donate to the cause, I will set up a paypal account and put in $10 to start it off. will post more information if there is enough of a response.
