Snerler
I attached a picture of the area in question. Clicking this has no effect and i dont see in other peoples screenshots. Does anyone know what the point of it is and if it can be removed?
Tophicles
I get this in my desktop running OSx86 - I think it's the floppy drive being read as a removable device. Doesn't do anything wrong except take up space as far as I can tell. Try unplugging your floppy drive and see if it still shows up. It could be your Motherboard reporting the controller as well, so removing the drive may not work... Just my $.
FuturDreamz
It is a menubar script. insert CD, click, and see if there is an option to eject CD. If not, it is broken and drag it while holding down CMD and Poof! gone.
consolation
recent c.2001+ apple keyboards come with an eject button (that's why there's none on the case); for compatibility issues, or if there is more then one optical drive, when a keyboard lacks the button os X gives you a menu icon to use. On PC keyboards the eject button usually maps to F12.
