I have installed 10.4.7, and it works slow..

That the reason why I will try 10.4.8.

If i boot the install dvd, the cdrom drive spins down and hangs on the following screen:

I have allready try the commands: -x, and -v.

What do i wrong?

My specs are:

HP Pavilion zv6000 Configuration

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0 GHz processor

768MB of PC2700 RAM

128MB ATI Xpress 200m video (dedicated memory)

8x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW drive

15.4" wide screen (no BrightView)

40 GB 4,200 RPM Hard Drive

Windows XP Professional

12 cell battery

No built-in wireless selected (USB based wireless card solution used)

Thanks

Try deleting the AppleGenericPCATA under /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily and maybe also replacing the AppleOnBoardPCATA with the ATi compatible one you can get somewhere on this board. Although this might not solve the problem since the HP-computers aren't really ideal to hackintosh, especially not the ones with the ATi chipset.

The simplest way for you to do this is to use the VMware method. Trust me it works like a charm..

Things you'lll need:

VMware 6.5 Workstation

Jast 10.4.8 w/ PPF1 & PPF2.ISO ~search for it.

a free hard drive or free partition.

the best thing about this is you don't need a cdrom

daemon tools.

First.

Download the Jas iso

Install vmware workstation

install daemon tools (get the free version) (it will ask you to reboot. do so.)

mount the Jas iso by rightclicking on the daemon tools icon in the taskbar.

now open up vmware workstation and choose create a new virtual macine

just choose typical and proceed with the default settings.

choose customize hardware at the end (uncheck power on when i click finish if that option is there)

now you'l get a box with the various options

remove floppy drive

remove hard drive

change memory to 512 mb

open up diskpart by hitting Windows + R and type in diskpart

you should get a screen with your hard disks.

be very careful with this

you can use disk management to see which drives are what (right click my computer & choose computer management)

so type list disks in the command prompt

you get a list of disks

type select disk X (replace x with whichever hard drive you are planning to choose)

if you have a single hard drive and want to choose a partition it will definitely have to be sel disk 0

now type list part

it will show you what partitions are there (hint, you can make out which partition is what and which disk is what by the size of the disk. )

now choose the partition you want to use by typing select part x

now type del part (caution: i am not responsible if you choose the wrong partition or drive here. If you have any doubts, ping me)

after deleting partition, type

create part primary id=AF

it will return after a bit of time with created part succesfully.

exit diskpart

now remember we took off the hard drive on vmware so its back to vmware

add hard drive. choose physical disk (advanced users).

again choose the disk you want (disk 0 or disk 1 or whatever)

if you wnat to choose just a partition make sure u select choose that specific parition and say ok.

choose advanced for the hard disk and chose persistent.

hit next and now go to advanced for cdrom properties. choose the damon tools drive letter. click ok

you'll have to quit vmware and add some lines to the config file.

close vmware. open my documents. wherever you saved the VMDK file it asked you to save. (if you left it at default it will be uder My Documents/My Virtual Machines/XXXX(name of the virtual machine)

now under this you will see a config file for the virtual machine. open with notepad.. search for the line that says scsi.present = "TRUE" and change that to "FALSE"

and add paevm = "TRUE" to the end of the line.

save and close

now you restart vmware

and power on the VM

Note: as soon as you power on. quickly click inside and hit F2 repeatedly till u get the VM bios. disable A disketted drive on the first screen and then go to the next screen with serial ports etc and disable all of them.

Hit f10 to save and exit.. when the iso loads, hit f8 and type -v and enter

now you should get all your apple codes in verbose mode and get to the installer without a hassle.

once in the installer. do the normal, disk utility and partition your drve etc.

make sure you choose the amd kext in customize and all that. dont choose any ati or nvidia kexts. remove x11 printers extra fonts etc. you dont really need them. can be added later.

once installation is done.. let it restart. make sure ur ethernet is off. and go through the usual apple registration thing. log into mac

trash the registration file. now shut down and power off the virtual machine. close vmware.

go to wiki of osx86 and search of chainloder chain0.

there should be a direct link. download the file and extract it directly to your windows root drive without putting it in a folder. so under c:windows/ you should have a chain 0 file.

now edit your boot.ini (right click my computer, advanced, startup and system settings)

add the line specified in the wiki - cant seem to remember it.)

reboot your system and choose macos...

thats it.. done.. now you can handle the real headaches like video kexts and the like. let me know what happens.
