Maxxuss' New Java Boot Loader Patch Installation

Hey,

 

Just hopped onto Maxxuss' site and low and behold, the new patches for 8F1111 are out. Immediatly I downloaded then and installed in the oah's to their place and the new kernel to theirs, but I can't seem to figure out what to do with the Java Boot Loader Patch...Any tips for me. Thanks.

Look at his site, there is a quick guide to use it.

Hmm...Perhaps I am missing something but I couldn't find any guide for it. All I could find is the guild for install the .ppf files and in the Java patch there is only .class and .mf files.

Install java and in dos mode type java -jar java boot patch then the name of your .iso

 

It will go through your iso and patch 3 lines of code.

Hey. I tried doing the DOS thing but it kept telling me, "Unable to access the jarfile java". Am I going to need more than the "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1 v1.5.0.10"? Thanks.

An Update. I update Java to v1.5.60 and it is still telling me that it cannot access the jarfile java. Any tips? Am I supposed to have a .jar files with the patcher that I got from Maxxuss' site? Because all that was there was a .class files and a .mf file.

For Java you can use directly the zip file not the inside files, somethin like this:

java -jar someJavaFile.zip

of course if the program in java needs some arguments is moething like this:

 

java -jar someJavaFile.zip someargument

or

java -jar someJavaFile.zip somefile

cool, i patched it..

 

in win >> run >>> cmd > then type

 

java -jar bootpatcher.zip isoname.iso

 

i wonder if this had somthing to do with it not getting root device..?

 

Anyway Third DVD now.. lets hope it works.. got the ioata kext and antitpm patches on the with some other kernels so maybe ill get lucky..

I found mine only worked when I did this:

 

java -jar "c:\documents and settings\USERNAME\my documents\boot.zip" "c:\documents and settings\USERNAME\my documents\isoname.iso"

 

It only worked when I had the path name. Took me ages to get it working.

What I did was to put the bootpatcher on the same directory, in the command window I go to that directory and just write the command without any paths.
