shonofear
G'day, I had success installing both XP, MAC and Linux on my new SATA HD. I installed XP and Linux with AHCI mode set in BIOS, but for MAC i kept gettin that 'still waiting for root device' So i just had to install the MAC via IDE controller mode and it worked sweet. But now i have to always change BIOS settings to get in and out of the OS which is pretty {censored}, but doable. I noticed some 1 had a thread to fix the opposite problem (XP with IDE mode, MAC with AHCI mode, wanted 2 change MAC to boot in IDE mode) and he was able to change some texts/kexts information to hack around this problem... any way to get it 2 boot properly and actually load with ACHI mode even though it was installed in IDE mode....? thanks for your helpful knowledge, CheeRs
sauria
Did you work it out to work in ACHI?
shonofear
nah, ended up reinstalling in ACHI mode, works sweet. IDE installation = 30mins ACHI installation = 10mins ACHI way to go for sure Shono
