Tick-Tock
Looked on the Apple site, and found nothing, but I've seen in a few places references to the CPU being 64 bit. If anyone knows, or at least knows the Intel model number of the CPU in a 15" MacBook pro (so I can look it up myself), it would be greatly appreciated. Synaesthesia
The Core 2 Duo models are 64-bit. The Core Duo (slightly older cpu) models are only 32-bit. hope this helps.

OMX-Knuckles
I don't think OS 10.4 is 64-bit but 10.5 will be and MBP's/iMacs with C2D's and all Mac Pros should run Windows XP Pro x64 or Vista x64.
Colonel
I don't think OS 10.4 is 64-bit but 10.5 will be and MBP's/iMacs with C2D's and all Mac Pros should run Windows XP Pro x64 or Vista x64. 10.4 is not fully 64-bit, it can run 64-bit UNIX apps. 10.5 will be completely 64-bit, allowing the OS to take advantage of the Core 2's and Xeon's EM64T instructions. All current Core 2 Macs and Xeon Mac Pros can already run Windows x64. Apple just needs to provide the proper drivers to make Windows work correctly. mac-mini
in 10.4 the core is only 64-bit
OMX-Knuckles
Not that's a huge deal for anyone that doesn't want 4GB of memory. So far the only compelling reason I've seen to go to 64-bit is that it makes large memory sizes more feasible.

sarahbau
in 10.4 the core is only 64-bit The kernel is 64-bit but Aqua is only 32-bit (as are some other components)
mifki
thats wrong as well, the core isnt 64-bit. The kernel you are thinking of just had a problem (caused by semthex and fixed by him, which made it crash on 64-bit apps).
