Sithy
Hi there, I'm trying to install ox86 using the Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso image. I've unchecked every component except the "JaS AMD kexts" part, at about 42% of "Installing Base System Part 1" the installer crashes saying "Please Try installing again.". I've deactivated my SATA controllers. I had a problem with a USB keyboard, I plugged in with a PS/2 adapter so that the install cd would boot. Any ideas? I might add that I have previously successfuly installed OSX onto one of my SATA drives using this DVD, but couldn't boot it ("waiting for root device"). I AM using my IDE drive here. amdintosh
Hi, I'm having a similar problem. (my thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=57108) After searching a bit, i found this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=43573 The conclusion seems to be that the disk image is bad. I'd recommend downloading the image again, and you should probably use the uphuck 10.4.9 as it is more recent. Also, burn the disk image at 1x speed to avoid errors (when I burnt it faster i didnt even get this far) Re-downloading now.... BTW: you can verify the md5sum of the download (a cdr image i think) using this program: http://www.nullriver.com/index/products/winmd5sum just run it and pick the downloaded cdr file. The hash to compare it to is d22bf4be7bf6d1548696252dcc032ab6 (found on the forums, disk is ok if it matches) hope this helps...
