Is it possible for me to install Mac OS X onto the following stats:

Amd Athlon 64 X2 3800+

Nvidia 6600

ASUS motherboard

Im pretty sure the rest of the stats do not matter.

I was just wondering if its possible, or does it HAVE to be an Intel processor?

My dream is to have Linux, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OX X all on one PC and having a boot menu to choose which operating system I want.

Anyways, thanks for the help. Posting here should save me alot of time that I should be dedicating to studies, lol.

Thanks again ;)

you should be fine. its not osxintel, its osx86. as long as you have an x86 processor (with correct requirements) it should work.

Thats good news I suppose. I shall formulate a plan to install all 4 now (With XP already installed that is)

Any tips to watch out for, greatly welcomed.

Just remember that SATA is not supported on NforceX-based motherboards. But as long as you have at least one PATA harddrive available there should be no problems. It works very well on my AMD X2-system :(

S**t! I have a SATA 250GB Hard Drive! Thats the only hard drive ive got, why doesnt it work on SATA?

Amd Athlon 64 X2 3800+

Asus A8N-E Motherboard

Nvidia GeForce 6600

Maxtor 250GB SATA Hard Drive

1GB DDR400 Ram

Thats the proper tech spec in full. So SATA Hard Drives dont work you say?

For all dual-core users posting here, does OSX show you as having 2 processors? I have a Pentium D 820 (poop I know) and Intel 945 mobo lying around and would use it if I knew that both processors were supported. I read somewhere on a HCL that the Intel dual-cores only show up as one core thats hyper threaded. Any luck with AMD X2's or Pentium D's? Anybody have a dual-core processor that shows up as 2 processors in OSX?
