screamingveg
Are there any netinfo gurus here? I have a couple questions about how the Accounts Preference Pane checks the netinfo database to find out whether or not it's valid and I'm hoping there's someone here who can answer them. Apple's official answer to my questions was "We don't support that." I'd give up, but I've got the engineer tick going where I have to figure it out now. screamingveg
Valid as in all users are properly set up and nothing is out of place. I'm fiddling around with it myself, but I can't figure out the preference pane works with one netinfo database and not another. As far as I can tell both of my test db's are identically structured and have proper user settings, but only one of them works with the accounts preference pane. screamingveg
I solved my problem. There was an invalid user in my test db that was causing system preferences to reject it. It wasn't showing up in my nidumps because it was invalid, so I didn't notice it until I had that db loaded and opened it in netinfo manager.
