Hi

I recently Installed Os X 10.4.8 for intel, amd on my AMD 3200+ 64 Winchester Core (SSE, SSE2)

and during installtation of the AMD packages it said

after install press

F* ---- what is the F* button

at the prompt type

-v -s

at the next prompt type

./patcher 10.4.8.AMD.CPUID.txt

I pressed a key on boot to enter boot options and type -v -s and it loads all in verbose mode with no errors i can see and then gets to

the next command prompt screen, I tried to type "./patcher 10.4.8.AMD.CPUID.txt" but with no luck, I couldnt type anything, the system was dead.

I left it on that screen for abour 30 mins to make sure everything was done, but still the system was hung.

Is there something im missing out on, can Os X 10.4.8 run on AMD that doesnt have SSE3 support

Thanks

Please specify the type of hardware (laptop or motherboard, etc) you are working with.

OSX86 can run on AMDs without sse3 with semthex' modified kernel.

Besides, you should download an install dvd that fits your hw better. Like the amd/intel 10.4.8 installdvd and ppf1 from JaS at the green demon.

I had the same problem: my keyboard was not detected properly... If you're using a laptop (maybe it also works with a normal PC) try using a USB keybord.

And don't forget to mount the volume with read/write access, before you start patching... It toook me a while to figure that out :thumbsup_anim:. Directely after booting in single user mode it tells you how to mount the volume with r/w access!

winifx,

Same problem here, using the "10.4.8 +ppf1 beta v2" iso, i cannot use the keyboard(ps/2) but when i reinstall with the natit patch, it mysteriously works!! :thumbsup_anim: and I can type at the next prompt. I have a SSE3 cpu and what is supposed to be a compatible board, so i don't think it's your setup.

edit: The "10.4.8.AMD.CPUID.txt" does not exist though, there is a "amd_1048_new.txt" there though can you verify this? I ran it, seemed to patch a few things but on reboot i get a kernel panic.
