Hi there everyone.

I've got a problem I can not find solution to.

I have a working natively-installed OS X (JaS 10.4.8 DVD).

Everything worked just fine (even QE and CI), untill something went wrong.

When I log in, the GUI loads and then my HDD led stays on for about 10-15 minutes, CPU load is 100% (used by kernel_task) and system is unusable. I've read all forum topics related to kernel_task CPU load problems and didn't find any solution to my problem. After a period of time HDD led goes out, system gains normal state. Any ideas?

System specs:

Intel Pentium 4: 2Ghz -> 2.66 Ghz overclocked;

1024MiB RAM, running dual channel;

SiS 648 chipset;

nVidia GeForce 7600GS 256MiB, AGP;

*hmm.. also, can't get my SB Live! Value to work, but this is impossible, i think.

Ah, and yes, all HDD operations (program loading, file operations etc.) load my CPU heavily, what can I do about it?

hecker, nope, the problem is not about overclocking. I've overclocked (BIOS-method) after the problem emerged.

I try to figure out, when all this {censored} began, and it seems that either after MS Office 2004 installation or after Torrent client. Not sure. It might have been some other software.
