Here's the deal:

I have a SATA harddisk where my WinXP Pro is located (i'm using it right now). Tomorrow I'm gonna buy IDE harddisk and I will install there OS X 10.4.6 (by JaS). I will follow these instructions.

So, is it possible to install OS X to my IDE harddisk (and use it from there) so i can also use XP from my SATA harddisk?

text might be a bit messy but i hope you understand :hysterical:

thanks!

EDIT: Should I use TransMac to convert it to HFS+ ?

I never set up a dual boot because my self I have allways use my motherboard boot menu (or boot loader I don't remember its name) I just have to press F8 on start up and I can selec the disqk on which I want to boot.

It is very usefull to get a multi-boot system, I have now Linux on one disk 3 Mac Os on another one and final a crapy os on a not used raid...

If you don't have a such menu avaible on boot you should be looking for a tutaurial, there many of them

To create partitions you can(should) use the install dvd, to do so you just have to use the disk utility

I agree, there's nothing easier than that.

Ok, thanks for the answers!

But can i still use WinXP from SATA and OS X from IDE? and should i convert IDE's filesystem to HFS ?

That's all i need to know.

Thanks!

Yes you can run XP from SATA and OSX from IDE and I think you have to convert filesys to HFS but do it anyway!

Might be a silly question, but why not just buy another SATA Drive?

Because i think SATA isn't supported. Here's a list.

I have these:

Asus K8N 754 NFORCE3 250

Thanks!
