Ok, here is the breakdown of hardware:

ASUS P5B-E

OZ Platinum Rev 2. DDR 2 800 RAM (2 gigs)

Intel e6300 core2duo

DLink GWLG510

2 x WD 250GB SATA drives

2 x LITEON DVD-R DL Lightscribe opt drives

I've tried these methods:

1. Installing using VMWare and Daemon tools:

error1.JPG

2. Installing using VMWare and my burned DVD

error2.JPG

3. Installing by booting to burned DVD gives me a "missing Boot.plist" error.

Any Ideas? please help, thanks. If you need more info, please let me know.

I have more or less the same set-up as you, camflan - same board, memory, similar cpu - I installed using the VMWare method - no problems - everything but sound and ethernet works out of the box.

The missing Boot.plist error you're getting when installing from burned DVD is probably due to the JMicron controller that your DVD drives are plugged into - at least so I am assuming, since I kept getting the same message when trying to install from DVD.

So - try the VMWare method again - make sure you set the drive/partition you're installing on to Independent-Persistent under advanced options in WMWare - it looks like that's what you're missing (judging from the errors in the screenies).
