Hi everyone,

I've just recently stepped into the osx86 world and it's quite amazing how far people are going to get os x onto their computers.

Anyway, I'd like to know which version I should install to make setup as quick and painless as possible.

Here are my specs: (Acer Aspire 3624WXMi)

-Intel Celeron M processor 380 1.6GHz (SSE2)

-Intel GMA 900

-80 GB HD

-512MB DDR2

I will be getting rid of my windows xp os and switching entirely to mac (I just need the computer for typing/chatting/internet). I would like to be able to just burn the DVD, install OS X, and start up the internet without any editing of kext? (If someone would explain that to me, that'd be great)

1) Is 10.4.8 only for SSE3 or can SSE2 run with it.

2) I keep hearing about the kernal being updated in 10.4.8. Is that true? Will that allow me to install more easily? Is the kernel updated from 10.4.7?

3) I hear that the Intel GMA 900 chip has a hard time being recognized?

Thanks in advance for all you help. Can't wait till I'm surfing this website on safari :dev:
