Alucard!
I just ended talking with the new features in windows that will make it run faster and be more secure and stuff. I just began to finally get using my computer(made all the configurations and had all the drivers on) when suddenly I have this! At that point I thought that ok what the hell. Ill download some registry cleaners and it all will be ok.. NOT a way!! I used all the cleaners. Adavare, AMUST Registry Cleaner, Registry Mechanic 6.0, 2 times online in spywareguide.com. And nothing still the red thingy stays in there! That Windows! I guess the moral of this story is that never feel secure in windows. Be always prepared for more "interesting" incidents!!! And make once a month Windows format!!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40890-i-have-had-it-with-windows/ Share on other sites

user2
I run several windows systems and never have problems with spyware or viruses. If you are aware of what you are installing, read before you click then you should be fine. that particular bit of malware is a stealth installed rogue software distributed by sysregistry.com. The file you are looking for is ctpmon.exe. If you google it you will find the solution. OryHara
It ain't really that hard...... Turn of sys restore. (should never be used anyway) dump c:\windows\system32\dllcache (DEP is {censored}. one of the many reasons whindoze is {censored}.) dump c:\windows\prefetch\ dump c:\windows\downloaded program files\ and stop using that IE {censored}. Jeeze. use firefox. IE is just stupid as hell. Not to mention 5 years outdated. download firefox mozilla.org download AVG free.grisoft.com download toolbarcop download hijack this download adaware & spybot Blow away the startup with toolbarcop, and hijack this. ( do this 2 or 3 times with hijack this) reboot run AVG then spybot, then adaware in that order. if it ain't gone, dump the account, and create a new user if it ain't gone then, format the {censored}OS & LOAD LINUX ON IT. http://www.linuxgod.net/ for a good ISO. ALL THIS to protect a crappy OS that should NEVER have been implemented in the first place. I don't see Mac and Linux users having to do all this {censored} to keep {censored} off their boxen. And i mean really. Look at my pic above. Do I look like I use windows? No, I just fix it for a living and make GOOD money cleaning the same {censored} off of people's pathetic junk. I consider myself a garbage man. A rich one at that. Monty Python: What is that? Dunno, must be a Mac. Why you say that? It hadn't got {censored} all over it.
