therooster
So I have a Dell Inspiron e1705 Core Duo 1.83GHz. I use a burnt iso and VMWare to install, and it works out, but when I boot into it natively afterwards the ethernet never shows up. I have tried a couple methods on this forum such as replacing the .kext with an older version or adding to a string, but it never shows up in the networking panel. I have the Broadcom 440x built in ethernet controller. As I side note, I have to use VMWare. If I try to boot off the dvd and install it that way, after it has installed and reboots the first time I can never get through the initial setup phases (such as setting your language and keyboard), it will hang after asking about network connection and never get to the next step. It wont be frozen, but I will usually just get a spinning black pinwheel and that's it.
