morroko
I just installed 10.4.8 and even the network and everything elses are working fine on the OSX, SheepShaver can't access to the Internet with slirp enabled. I had no problem with this setting when 10.4.7 installed. It shows the error when SheepShaver started that something like it can't find a DNS server. Does anyone have a same problem or anyone know the solution for this? MY Ethernet card is Yukon 88E8053 which is a bult-in on Asus P5LD2-V. thanks. cat_7
Hi, Have you tried to zap the pram file sheepshaver uses? That option is in the file menu in GUI. And, for troubleshooting, please report what settings you use in the TCP/IP panel in OS9. Best wishes, Cat_7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40206-1048-and-sheepshaver/#findComment-287118 Share on other sites
morroko
Thank you for reply. I tried Pram clear but no luck. OS9 is using DHCP server. I also tried manual setting. SheepShaver shows the error message that saying it can't use ethernet because it couldn't find Dns address. The message shows up even though I removed all the volumes from the prefs. cat_7
You mean you get that error even before Mac OS 9 gets loaded? Cat_7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40206-1048-and-sheepshaver/#findComment-287417 Share on other sites

cat_7
Hi, I assume your mac gets an ip address through dhcp as well? Is there a DNS entry in your active network card' configuration? If not, try adding one. Cat_7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/40206-1048-and-sheepshaver/#findComment-288139 Share on other sites
vitamin
It shows the error when SheepShaver started that something like it can't find a DNS server.Does anyone have a same problem or anyone know the solution for this? Hi, it seems that something is broken in Mac OS X or in hackintosh installation DVDs. I found my /etc/resolv.conf symlink pointing to var/run/resolv.conf instead /var/run/resolv.conf (note first slash). So for me the solution was to fix this: ln -sf /var/run/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf Hope this help! hrhrhr
It helped to _me too_! I checked symbolic link in /etc/resolv.conf and it had the same error. When I fixed it with 'ln' command SheepShaver network started ro work. And how did you find this bug?
