Hey everyone. I have had my hackmac working quite well for some time now. But I have encountered an odd issue. I am recording audio from a Mic on a M-Audio USB Quatro Audio interface. In windows and on a geniune mac it records fine, but on my hackintosh when I record audio with a mic there is an electronic popping during the playback.

Also when I launched Garage band my audio suddenly stopsworking, The device is still seen, but no audio. Deleting the audio.plists and rebooting and booting into windows and back does not work. The only thing that worked is a re-install of OSX.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok at least one problem solved, The Missing audio is because the Line out is not from the Mic connection. I have read posts of that happening to people. So a quick change of Audio jacks and all is well.

I THINK that the audio popping when Im recording could be a USB port issue. My USB ports are only working at 12 Mbs on all the ports. No hubs or anything like that.

Have you tried installing the latest USB-update from apple? It solves alot of USB-problems and enables USB2.0 on some chipsets. Also make sure your USB-ports are set to High-Speed and not just Full-Speed in BIOS or else they will only run at USB1.1 speeds.
