ok, right now im not sure if this problem is specific to my osx86 installation or if my router is about to die, im trying to figure out which one it is but anyway,

since about 10 hours ago my connection to my network has been just dropping about every hour, ill reboot then its back again...but then itll drop, reboot to get it back, then it will go again. now this is happens both when im wireless and with my network cable plugged in, and up untill now it has worked perfectly (which is why it might be an issue not related to my computer).

oh and to be more clear, it still says im connected to the network i just cant connect to the internet or see the other computers on the network

and if its relevant im running 10.4.6 on a dell e1505 laptop which has a dell 802.11g wireless card

so if anyone has a fix for this or has experienced the same problems let me know...right now im testing to see if the same things happens when im in winodws, if it does then the problem is not within osx86 and this whole post was pointless :(

i think i may have found the root of the issue here.....

it appears that for some reason when i connect to my network(by using a cable first) im not being assigned an IP adress and therefore, it just doesnt work right (in osx86) but if i i start up with my cable unplugged and my wireless card connected then plug in the cable it works fine....

so problem solved...sort of
