devilowns Posted January 6, 2007 Share Posted January 6, 2007 ive downloaded a file "Flient_Discreet.dd.image" its a Linux file "made under Linux" i guess its made using dd , i need help to open this file or extract it , i tried this dd if= Flient_Discreet.dd.image of =\dev\hda1 hda1 is empty hard disk partition , but that broke my partition and it become unreadable , one thing to make sure its not "{censored}" I did the dd command from windows then I used a recovery app and it find files that belong to the program I wanna extract "pdf file contain flint documentation" I have a new installed Fedora Core 5 on another hd redhat 9 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37857-dd-help/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

asap18 Posted January 8, 2007 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Is it a hard drive image? Otherwise the way you did it wont work, since it wont create a partition table or other necessary things.
