Hi all,

New here, but a self proclaiming -experienced- PC user, but having stumbled into a Mac store to get out of the rabble in the sales only last week, and finding out about this whole OSx86 scene that's been hidden away from me.

I quite fancy giving it a bash.

My spec is:

AMD x2 4600+ (939)

Abit Av8 3rd Eye

Geforce 2 MX 400 (AGP)

2gb OCZ

From the 5 minutes I've read on this forum, it seems the Abit Av8 is capable of running OSx86 albeit without ethernet support and the 4600+ may need a core disabling to run smoothly (?)

Anyhow, I'm hoping you guys can clear this up for me, and perhaps give me an insight as to whether or not this will work?

Also, what is the best Image to try?

Many thanks for your time!

and if that dont work i would try 10.4.6 just to see..... i know bting can get tiresome but it's still worth a shot! :thumbsup_anim: good luck let us know how it goes..... o btw make sure ur bios has cd boot first and even better put ur disk into verbose mode when booting to see where the issue is

ta for the tip! will need to get a working image first. the 10.4.7 i got wasnt even recognised as being bootable.

when i tried to open the iso in ultraiso, it just said 'corrupt or unreadable' - so i think the actual image i had was a duffer :(
