robiecat
Hi there, managed to install the AMD Final 10.4.8 on an IDE HD. Trying to get a dual boot system working. Problem: My Win XP is installed on non-supported SATA HD's (nforce4 Motherboard), where as OSX is installed on the IDE HD. Question: Is it possible to install a boot manager like Acronis on the SATA HD in order to boot an OSX located on the IDE HD without screwing up the non-supported SATA Drives? macgirl
I have XP on Two SATA Drives in RAID mode, still I use NT BootLoader with chain0 and loads perfect Mac OS on PATA drive, It also loads perfect with Mac OS on SATA drive (on the Silicon Image channels). I also have grub (the DOS version) on SATA RAID and it loads Mac OS without problem. It does not screw the drive, the only thing is taht Mac OS cant see the XP partition, but I dont care. robiecat
As mentioned before the dual boot with chain0 on the XP partition works like a charm, but another problem has arisen: E.G. Windows boot: 1. Press F8 (if i don't use it, OSX will boot) 2. Choose XP partition and boot from there 3. XP Bootloader comes up and then choose Windows XP in the bootmenu 4. XP is booting OSX boot: - Just hit return Now i just want the XP bootloader to take control and choose the OS's and i assume it's the darwin bootloader that starts right before the XP bootloader. Now, how do i get rid of that annoying double bootloader scenario (i.e. kick darwin bootloader out :-) Already tried the fixmbr etc. stuff. Any help?
