fiscus
I'm running 10.4.8 with the 8.8.1 kernel with all the updates on a CD2 system with a Asus P5W DH mobo. Everything is working great and no real issues. I'm running all SATA drives and have additional to my dedicated OSX drive I have 3 other NTFS drives that consist of my WinXP install and my backup/media/content etc. Each time I start OSX usually only 1 or 2 of the NTFS drives will be mounted automatically. Atm I want to have all my drives mounted on startup as I'm still getting the install up to date with my info. I've seen the topics on how to disable automounting drives which some people might want to do to hide their XP drive. I've checked the console and there doesn't appear to be any errors reported there - although I am knew to OSX so I'm not too sure where else to look. Just wondering if anyone has an explanation why only some of the drives mount automatically? They drives themselves work fine and if I go into DiskUtil I can just mount them manually and they appear. Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37350-sata-auto-mount-irregularity/ Share on other sites
fiscus
found the fix. Switched the other drives stat controller to Standard in the BIOS (rather than AHCPI or whatever it is) and just kept the OSX drive on with AHCPI and now everything boots up fine with all drives mounted.
