The Baron
I have JaS 10.4.7(AMD/Intel) update to 10.4.8 and 8.4.1 kernel. How can i update my kernel? And i very dumb noob question; what´s kernel?.... There's plenty on here already. Do a search for mach_kernel, mv, mach_kernel.old that should point you in the right direction. Also read up on www.semthex.com. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37217-kernel/#findComment-264756 Share on other sites
Rammjet
The kernel is the primitive brain of the operating system. To upgrade to the new kernel, first you must update your 10.4.8 installation to obtain files that were not installed because they were not compatible with the old kernel. Then you can update to the new kernel. Follow the 10.4.8 link in my signature for ways to update your 10.4.8 installation and for ways to upgrade to the latest kernel.
