jalavoui
the future of iwidarwin intel is porting their linux drivers to http://intellinuxwireless.org/ this means that new drivers will use the mac80211 lib and iwl driver/firmware code i've deleted all iwi3945 code taken from ipw3945 linux project and rewrite it with iwlwifi-3945 code in time i guess iwi2100/2200 will use this sources iwi3945 this is the 1st release of the driver don't need networkselector to test it if you get a kp post the picture iwi2200 last release i've posted here is for wep networks can someone test it and post the logs? iwi3945.dmg Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/123/#findComment-474524 Share on other sites

asabel
jalavoui: I just installed your new drivers from post 3051, on initial reboot the computer froze on white screen, now it is back up and running. No airport symbol(not sure if there should be one) but It is recognized in network utility with the correct MAC address and Vendor, current status is inactive. Just wanted to add my thanks for all the work you have done on this issue.... I will be happy to test any drivers you release for this problem... fsk141
Hey, I just tested the kexts and it does the same thing with the other drivers, my MAC is detected correctly, and everything is good, except that it wont connect to any networks Also I cant use networkselector. It gives me no correct interface name, it is a character that is non-visible. I attached my logs, and I hope they help. ZenWalker
Hi... I need some help. I installed the iwi3945 drivers from the code.google.com site.. Now my computer is not booting up in Mac OS. I used Jas iso 10.4.8 for installation. My PC starts booting and after loading some files, it reboots again. I deleted the files as mention codes.google.com FAQ to uninstall the driver but was unable to do kextcache because I was not able to boot my computer. What should I do now? lusp00ky
javaloui: just let me make things perfect clear. 1. you had an old driver based on ipw3945's linux driver, and now you have a new driver based on intel iwl's code? 2. you abandoned the old code and wrote the new one from scratch? 3. when this works, you'll be a god damn hero GO GO GO! jalavoui
iwi3945 i've write more code from mac80211 this isn't easy so you'll probally get some kernel panics please post the logs/pictures since this is a NEW DRIVER you'll need to remove the old one first: - delete iwi3945.kext from system/preferences -reboot -goto network preferences and delete any pci8086 interface you find there -reboot -install the iwi3945.pkg -reboot you now will be testing the new driver can someone test the lastest driver from intel and post the logs - this will help a lot on porting it to mac os x http://intellinuxwireless.org/ i'm using the fimware iwlwifi-3945-ucode-2.14.4 and iwlwifi-1.0.0-1(get this from intel linux support page) iwi2200 latest version for QoS/WEP networks iwi3945.dmg iwi2200.dmg Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/123/#findComment-475047 Share on other sites
sunfish
There is something I don't understand: why are people running around testing pre-alpha code? Shouldn't the code be at least alpha ready before other people can effectively and efficiently contribute to the development process? I know this is open source and developers don't get paid etc., but the development of the iwi driver up to this point is just mind boggling. Maybe I should start another branch. First I will write my code on a piece of paper. I then scan it in as a jpeg file and check it into svn. Now, I want you guys to help out by typing in the code, compile it and post all compiler/linker errors here. I'll mark up my piece of paper and repeat the cycle. For those who are not going to dual boot your laptops, you may want to spend $10 on a Dell 1390 card and get it over with. macgirl
That is not an Intel card. VENDOR ID of Intel is 8086 Your card has an Atheros chip from the vendor ID, and ar5211.sys gives you a clue.
