I have been reading this thread for a couple of days now. I can't find the answer to my question. I have a z60m IBM laptop running with everything working great. I have installed the latest iwi2200 driver and I can connect to an access point. However, whether there is one around or not, my computer freezes after about 7 minutes. All I have to do is go into the Info.plist file and turn the use 10.4.8 to 0, and I don't have a problem. I am not able to connect to anything wirelessly, but my computer doesn't freeze. It's not a problem like trying to download a large file, it just does it when it wants to. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if you need more info.

Hello, could you create some logs of this driver, info on how to do this is here: http://iwidarwin.wordpress.com/faq/

I have also created a RSS FEED: http://iwidarwin.wordpress.com/feed/

I will post all of the latest driver releases here, so you can easily keep track of things without having to read loads of posts on here.

I installed the following:

iwi3945: http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...945/iwi3945.dmg

It seems to install it correctly however nothing I can do to actually turn it on. It always says "Airport is currently turned off"

Also the Wireless Indicator on the Laptop does not Light up.

jalavoui has fixed it already.

heres the link for the latest driver:

http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...200/iwi2200.dmg

it shouldn't have the long scan crash.

moseschrist, I already have that version installed. That's why I thought it was something else. Would the freeze still happen if it found and connected to an access point? I thought that if it found one, it would stop searching, but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't. Thanks anyway.

it will search as long as it is not connected.

it is quite wierd, i took a 3hr train ride today and had no crash and as far as i know there was no access point in the train.

i'm still getting the "crash" if i d/l a big file or severl files that amount to ~180MB one after another...

hi,

You want iwi2200 for the ipw2200 card. You can download this here: http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...200/iwi2200.cpp

For a guide how to install: http://iwidarwin.wordpress.com/installation/

I just want to say thanks to all the guys working so hard to get this fixed. I really, REALLY appreciate it. I wish I was as apt as you guys so I could help out.

Anyway, I am running a 3945 card and have the iwi installed and it is recognized and I have the airport on, but like so many others, I cannot detect any available wireless networks. Here are my logs for you guys to play with. I am not concerned with connecting to a WEP or otherwise secured wireless, as the setup I am using has the security disabled. Thanks in advance.

iwi2100

i find out the error : firmware

http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...100/iwi2100.dmg

iwi3945

i changed the code to use the new mac80211-4.0.4 functions (see intel link in google iwidarwin)

this could mean that the code from iwi3945 will be diferent from other iwi's project - i hope not

iwi2200

i notice that people are posting wrong links in here

this is the right one:

http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...200/iwi2200.dmg

the iwi2200 no longer uses io80211 framework/extension

i haven't fixed the 170M bug - help if you can

You want iwi2200 for the ipw2200 card. You can download this here: http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...200/iwi2200.cpp

Thanks

I must be retarted. I have followed the guide to the letter and still have the PCI Ethernet Slot pci8086,4220 showing with no Airport listed. Am I supposed to something with the .cpp file? Sorry for the questions, I am very new to this.

Thanks

No Airport listed. Can you post logs ( http://iwidarwin.wordpress.com/faq/ ) So we can see I can see if the drivers are detecting the card.
