blueman2
FlipHDK, Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. Still no joy. Installed the framework, which shows up under system profiler, and the 80211 kext, which does not show up as loaded. It is there, with correct permissions, etc, but does not load. Still getting this message in profiler for iwi2000: iwi2200: Version: 1.0.0d1 Last Modified: 3/9/07 9:31 PM Get Info String: Copyright Joel Thomas 2005 Location: /System/Library/Extensions/iwi2200.kext kext Version: 1.0.0d1 Load Address: 0x38f34000 Valid: Yes Authentic: Yes Dependencies: Incomplete Dependency Errors: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily: No valid version of this dependency can be found Integrity: Unknown While IONetoworkingFamily kext is loading, maybe my version (10.4.6) is not compatible? That appears to be what the dependency error is saying?? Or perhaps I need to modify my ionetworkingfamily plist to include my deviceID? I never thought of that, but that might be it?? chiels
Dear all : I really need help. I installed the previous 2 version iwi3945.dmg. It just showed the icon above. So I installed the lastest version of iwi3945.dmg I got kernal panic. and I saw the 4 languages screen. I tried to boot with "-v" mode, but It doesn't work. I tried to boot from 10.4.8 install CD, and tried to remove the file from terminal. but I am really a newbee , and don't know about the unix. I typed "sudo -s" but It said no such order. so I couldn't go any further. Can anyone tell me how to get my system back? OR the only way for me is re-install the whole system..... Do this: While booting press F8 ( like you would to boot with -v), boot with -s instead Once that has loaded do the 2 commands to mount your hardrive, it tells you them on the screen. asstastic
I barely passed CS back in high school but iI'd still like to help out with development on 3945. to start, a short brief on the "map is zero" error that keeps some people from fully loading the kext would help. From what i gathered browsing the source, it has something to do with the card firmware not being loaded into memory. jalavoui
Hi Guys, I'm getting the following error when i try to install the iwi2200.dmg via the installer: You cannot continue, there is nothing to install. Dutchforce i allways use my root account to do the development in the installer i've setup a script to fix permissions can someone confirm if the installer works for non root accounts? i haven't tested that - if this is a bug it's easy to fix also remeber that iwi2200 no longer needs io80211 framework/extension i think i have fixed some bugs for these cards you'll need the io80211 framework/extension iwi2100 -setup rx/tx queues http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...100/iwi2100.dmg iwi3945 http://iwidarwin.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/...945/iwi3945.dmg - fixed rx/tx queues -ipw_scan() - i write this function. i think it need the new 80211 functions from iwlwifi-0.0.10. this means probally writting a new driver - i hope not the "map is zero" error that keeps some people from fully loading the kext would help. in my opinion this as is cause of conflicts with hardware - see previous posts to fix edit the info.plist and set the right vendor/id of your card type ioreg -w0 in the console wil help to get the right vendir/id for people with acer laptops i also have a acer a old travelmate 4100 with 0x42208086 card i don't have any problems with the card - the iwi2200 works fine if you do - let me now what is the problem about the Intel Wireless PRO 2915 A/B/G iwi2200 should work for this card i need kazu to look at the new code and maybe do some fixes for this card if you have this card and iwi2200 don't work let me now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36976-intel-wireless-driver/page/45/#findComment-321276 Share on other sites

evis
Hi First of all, Thank you for all this effort! So I loaded the new DMG file, It didn't cruch (sorry about the english)... The thing is that there is no signal or something like that, and the led don't starts, I tried to change for 1 to 0 - (in the led section) - but still doesn't make anything... And What about the Vendor ID - I tried to look up on Terminal But I didn't find it... maybe because of that it's not working? Hope I helped, I'll try to bring pics and logs next time... asstastic
in my opinion this as is cause of conflicts with hardware - see previous posts to fix edit the info.plist and set the right vendor/id of your card type ioreg -w0 in the console wil help to get the right vendir/id for people with acer laptops i also have a acer a old travelmate 4100 with 0x42208086 card i don't have any problems with the card - the iwi2200 works fine if you do - let me now what is the problem As you can see from my ioreg output ioreg.txt the card is showing up under the PCI devices with a device id:4222 vendor:8086 , in other words it's already listed in the iwi3945 info.plist. or perhaps it has the wrong device subsystem(x10008086). i don't see anything else in there that i can change to get it working. i did notice that those who have the driver loading fine have a very diferent ioreg output for their card. perhaps a Natit-style kext to force detection and hardware switch compliance would do the trick?
