Hi ... I heve installed Mac OS X 10.4.7 on a Notebook Enface (http://www.enface.it/ita/octavet100a.php) that have a wireless 3945, and with the "iwi3945_v11.dmg" release now is visible the airport icon in menu bar, but in System Preferences is look like a network card and is not possible use as a wireless card

 

...any suggest?

No time for logs right now, but I ran 3945v11 and got NO KERNEL PANIC. I still get an incorrect MAC address, but now, ethernet works even while iwi3945 is loaded :thumbsdown_anim: This means I don't have to uninstall the thing every friggin time we have a new test :) Still waiting on that paypal address, jalavoui! I'll send you a few bucks!

 

PS. I always want to call jalavoui JAVALOUI. Like he's a guy named louis thats good at java.... maybe i'm just weird.

looks like you need to fix permissions - use Applications/Utilities/ disk utility to do that

 

you're using iwi2100_v3.dmg? that's the last build

 

looks like many users are getting trouble with the IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework

 

can someone build a pkg or zip the files for 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 and make them available

 

i now it's not legal

I tried to fix permissions as you instructed but still have the message at boot: couldn't alloc class "darwin_iwi2100".

Yes, I'm using iwi2100_v3.dmg.

I've tried different kext and frameworks but no success (used pacifist to extract files from upds).

 

?

 

After I installed iwi2100_v4.dmg and tried with different frameworks (10.4.7 and 10.4.8) but same happened (logs of _v4 are attached).

I got kernel panic on 10.4.8 (without any additional updates) with 3945 v11 as well. kext recognized card, shoed it's IRQ, vendor ID (8086), product ID (4222), then put '1 2 3 4 5' on the screen, set power state to 2, configured interface, wrote 6 and 'start done' at the end. A bit later i got massive kernel crash ;-) Since i don't really know where to find info about kernel panic (/var/log/system.log does not contain required data) i can only put a photo and here. I hope that will help a bit.

something about bluetooth:

if you want your built in bluetooth to work without installing any drivers, just get a bluetooth dongle plug it in , mac will mae the bluetooth icon appear. remove the dongle then bluetooth says its off, then turn on your front bluetooth switch on your acer and built in bluetooth should work!!:rolleyes:

 

about 3945abg v11 forgot to say my os is 10.4.8 and i got a panic, then started with -s and then rebooted and it logged.

AirPort is on (even if I FN+F2) If I tell AirPort to turn off it won't. It stays on. It doesn't detect any networks. If I try to manually connect:"There was an error joining the Airport network "SSID WAS HERE".

In Network Pref, it says my AirPort ID: 66:02:04:00:00:00 . This is incorrect. In all of the logs it get's this correct

this is most for kazu to read :)

 

i think we should change the project structure to avoid conflits and usefull discussions - there's just to much work to be done and no time to waste arguing

 

my idea is that you should create a new project in trunk called iwi2915

 

change the info.plist for you card needs

 

you'll be in charge of it and i'll be responsable for iwi2100, 2200 and 3945

 

i don't really fell the need of creating a new site for svn - but i feel the need to work on separate iwi's

I use ipw2200.

 

at first, I will delete 2100/3945 directories.

 

if someone want not to delete 2100/3945 directories,

i dont delete theses.

but i dont maintain it.

Hi, I am using iwi2200-xkazu2 for 2915 ABG wireless card. 10.4.6 from Jas disk.

 

If I put my computer to sleep (i.e. close the lid), and re-open it, I am no longer connected to my wireless network. Afterwards, I have to restart my computer in order to re-connect to my network. Is there anyway that I can re-connect to my network without restarting my cpu?

 

By the way, Xkazu, please do not cease development of these drivers. Your contributions are highly valued and are much appreciated. Please keep up the good work.

Try booting a live-cd, like Ubuntu or Knoppix and do a ifconfig on the console. You'll see the correct MAC adress from the output. Another way would be to use an existing M$-OS, if you do a dual-boot and do a 'ipconfig /all'.

No kernel panic with v11 by manually kextloading it. If the kext is in the Extensions folder, on the contrary, I get a kernel panic at boot.

 

Wireless remains always off, however, even by rebooting with wireless on from WinXP. Fn-F5 turns on bluetooth but not wifi.

 

Wireless MAC address in ifconfig is different from XP (which shows 00:13:02:3a:ba:6d).

 

This is what ifconfig says:

Here Here! Your 2200 works really good but drops out after a few hours, but it does so with no locksups, just have to reboot the machine. Your doing a great job, as is javouloi, so lets get together to make this work.

I know the reason of this bug.

if I will fix the bug , I will release ipw2200( new forked driver).

 

I wish not to stop 2200/2945 driver because I require device driver.

this is difficult thing.

I didnt help 2100/3945 development in past.

because i have only 2945abg device .( 2200 is compaibility with 2945)

 

if there are 3945,2100 developer which dont feed bad to shared development,

I can help its developer.

 

I dont delete iwi3945/2100 driver source code,

however I never edit source code of 2100/3945 without buying pc having 3945.

 

jalavoui may make good hacking about 2100/3945:)

Is the correct Mac Address and in network pref it says a incorrect mac address as my AirPort ID:

 

I googled: 88001003

I find that other people get this error, they are not using this wireless card. So thats not a problem with the drivers?

hmmm i think that's a driver bug - i'll fix it and post a new version

looks like people with Core 2 Duo processor are getting kernel panic - i see a log with no kernel panic

ask how did he install the driver - it could help

System can't load iwi3945. It says that kext superclass is changed. ;)

The last airport update installed.

i'd like to keep the project as it is

 

i think it is a good idea, for you, to build a iwi2945 project because you have that card

 

this will allow us to work on the same project but with different trunks - i'll use iwi2200 and you'll use iwi2945

 

this way no svn delete/commit problems occurs and no arguing about rules happens

 

if you use ipw2200 and i use iwi2200 we'll have 2 versions of the same project - don't need that
