iwi3945 - v7

Here are some photo's of some things; there are like 7 new network cards

I have also noticed something in the log's - The mac addresses in the logs are correct; but the one in the AirPort is incorrect

Feb 18 13:50:04 localhost kernel[0]: MAC address: 00:1*:02:0*:Dd:c3

Feb 18 13:50:13 kyle-fullers-computer kernel[0]: getHardwareAddress: 00:1*:02:0*:Dd:c3

xKazu, can you post the binaries of latest version of iwi2200.kext ?

thks

xKazu,

"i seem that the reason of performace problem is following.

tx is dont send collectly when many sending(or recieve).

flusing packet per rx (this is fixed)"

is performance problem fixed with this version ?

Thks

When I boot with the new iwi3945 I get: "You need to restart yout computer. Hold down the power button..." every time I boot.

When I boot with -v I get: Debugger called <Panic>...

darwin.iwi3945(1.0.0d1)@0x31e5f000

dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(1.5.0)@0x2a4e7000

"" "" "" .IOPCIFamily(2.1)...

"" "" "" .IO802.11Family(112.1)

bit like that cut out loads of stuff. So I need those files? Where are they from?

i notice in iwi3945 lines like this

darwin_iwi3945: Ethernet address 00:0b:0e:1f:13:00

i believe that this is the correct mac address

can someone confirm this?

i also notice that there are people testing iwi3945 while using other interfaces (enx)

it's better to test it with other interfaces off - otherwise the iwi3945 interface will never go up

are you using more than one interface pluged at the same time, or iwi3945 is doing this?

can you use bluetoohth in mac os? tell me how you do it

My bluetooth works, ive sent things from my phone to os x. I was using my ethernet card at the same time as the logs before.

The attached logs are from the latest iwi3945.

(All of those mac address you have quoted are the mac address of my ipw3945 card

my case is that the driver loads okay but I cannot get any Airport item in the SysPref.

Moreover, after loading the driver, I got a en0 which act like a wired network but having the mac address of my 2915ABG card.

(my wired network card has no driver also, so en0 is not up normally)

can you check ifconfig and see if the mac address is correct?

kazu

can you check this

it's possible that get_statusdev is getting wrong enx interface numbers?

the code seems quite right to me

please unplug other networks connection you may have before post the logs

can you post the full log? i only see the mac address on this one.

thanks

what have you done to make bluetooth work? add a extension?

That last system.log.txt : there are nothing logged for when I booted while it wasn't working till i removed it. So that log is useless.

The bluetooth just worked.

The included log is my full log for the last week.

Dunno if Macaddress should be a different number under windows? Neve

rtheless this is 00:18:DE:AD:5E:1D for my 3945 (version 5.1.30) under Windows XP.

Many thanks Javaloui for your amazing work...

With v8 I get a crash whenever I try to use kextload -t iwi3935.kext (it tells me I have to restart my computer). I have 10.4.8 but moved the Apple80211 Framework and IO80211 kext from the 10.4.7 Intel Combo update into the PrivateFrameworks and Extensions directories.

thanks for remebering :)

the free() routine is bogus for all drivers

never try to use kextunload - always restart the computer

we'll fix that bug soon

don't use 10.4.7 Intel Combo use 10.4.5 /6/7 or just copy from 10.4.8 with pacifist (IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework)

"don't use 10.4.7 Intel Combo use 10.4.5 /6/7" Which one? You say to not use 10.4.7 and next you say to use it again?

:)

i mean that should use apple (not combo) updates from 10.4.5 to 10.4.7

i'm using the 10.4.8 and geting no bugs - except for the airport menu - wich should not be used

Okay, Im just downloading the 10.4.7 update. Once all that is done I will disable Bluetooth and ethernet in BIOS and try the drivers again.

i've made a script for testing download speed

the site in the script should be changed to a local server near you (improve download speed)

if someone can change the script and add a site for testing upload speed - it would help

copy it to / folder of starttup disk

to run the script type "sh /dw" in terminal

this is for iwi2200 only

it can be used in normal mode or when booting with -s option

we're doing some rx speed tests

if you can get last source of iwi2200 in svn please try it

no

you have to get the 10.4.5

the 10.4.6

and the 10.4.7

extract all files from 10.4.5 to a folder

overwrite with files from 10.4.6 and 10.4.7

this gives some work

better to use the files from 10.4.8 - extract only once and it's done

i've explain all this in previous posts

you don't neede to disable in bios - just unplug the interfaces cables

ok here's the script

Hey, i have a ThinkPad T60 with built-in Intel 3945ABG Wireless card.

I tried to read as much as possible in the tread to understand how i could help in the progress of the 3945ABG drivers.

First of, i downloaded the iwi3945_V8, should i just install the pkg and then reboot or do i need all the IO802.11Family.kext files?

How do i generate the logs?

As I said, i would like to help out all i can.

Peace out
