bofors
I've never built a PC, but I'm sure as hell not a typical moron... This is something that 12 year olds do regularly, there is almost nothing to it and all you really need is a screwdriver. Sure you can screw things up, but as long as you are reasonably careful and ask questions it is unlikely that you will have any serious problems. You get warranties building it yourself too. Lifetime on the RAM, 3 years from Intel on the chips and probably the same on the motherboard. joe75
Building your own is the best way to go There is nothing to it and you get much better parts. You just have to wait for shipping and if you're all set on finances you can order everything the same day. If you have never shopped newegg, then you're missing out. They have great deals and rebates, they have excellent shipping with pretty accurate tracking and they take care of you on any returns. You can shop around looking for better prices but I like to deal with newegg or zip-zoom-fly for ordering off the net. The most difficult part of your build would be drivers on a new sever board and your raid configurations, both are after the build and usually pretty easy to overcome. I think you can handle it and it is always fun building a new setup, specially servers.
