Hi, Finally, osx installed on my laptop. Now when it loads, it freezed at the gray apple screen. So i restarted and hit "-v" so I can see where the problem may be. I get some memory error with a bunch of numbers mostly 0's....what's wrong? I know when i tried to install natively I got the ps2 error, so i had to install through vmware. Any ideas?

During installation, before you click the Install buttom, you first must click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. If you failed to do this or chose the wrong packages, your boot can hang.

Since you told us nothing about your computer or the version of OSX you are using - in fact, all you have told us is you have a laptop and an external USB drive and OSX doesn't boot - I have to take a guess and show you what OSX 10.4.6 Customize looks like:

See, the problem is I couldn't install natively with my laptop, because I'd get the ps2 error. I couldn't install through vmware because the installer/disk utility wouldn't recognize my usb drive. So I looked online for a way to install on an external hard drive, and I found what was called the deadmoo method of installing the 10.4.1 image. Do you know of anyway to install on a laptop natively, or to have vmware access my external harddrive, so i can set it up that way? Thanks.
