sg Posted December 24, 2006 Share Posted December 24, 2006 how are you trying to determine your memory speed in osx? osx (or any os for that matter) will not set memory speed, it is set on bootup from bios options/settings. whats more likely the case is that the osx kernel or applesmbios (i forget) simply isnt detecting the values correctly since it is a hackintosh. consolation Posted December 25, 2006 Share Posted December 25, 2006 (edited) Don't worry; it's only ASP playing silly buggers; your ram is detected correctly and runs at the speed set in BIOS. Essentially ASP is pretty much out to lunch in 10.4.8; I have no PCI card detection for example, however, I can access and use them OK. Oh, and my DDR2 667 was showing up as 66 until I OC'd the bus to 220MHz -now it's "unknown." However ASP correctly detects my bus @ 880MHz. Go figure...
