P4 3ghz / 6600GT agp, 10.4.7 with sse2 kernel B9 exp6

Evrything works, but i compard my xbench scores with others. And i noticed my scores are very very low for the opengl thing. Although games do work.

Score opengl 59.95 / quartz 37.33 / cpu 50.33.

The graphical thing should be at least 2 times faster

Optimazing tools did nothing, do you guys know any other ways or setting to speed thing up?

My hardware is same as yours and i get 120fsp on opegl. I have CRT monitor and running 85Hz, and i even then got the 60fps, so it was not because vsync issues. Do you have TFT with 60Hz? First check if its capped to 60fps because the vsync ...

I got my 60 -> 120 opengl boost from updating my whole OSX to 1.4.8, besides kernel + couple .kextts...all frameworks i have is from real apple combo .4.8 (check the 99% pure 4.8 installation guides) ...that speeded my openGL score.

My Quartz scores are still in the same ballbark as yours and the "slowness" can be seen example using firefox and some apps as the other poster mentioned.

I would like to know if this firefox etc slowness is becauase SSE2 / SSE3 emulatoin issue or what ...because i havent heard anyone with sse3 + ci/qe having this slownesss when using real appz ...

Could be, but it sounds strange that only a few sse3 emulated instructions are the problem makers. In that case i hope that when the sse3 emu source gets released that someone finds a way to speed it up a little (if possible ofcourse).

I hope that one day agpgart will work and support CI/QE could be a little speedup and ofcourse the full 10.4.8 package. I dont gone upgrade now anymore. I'll wait for a new full sse2 1048 dvd now is only a few away i guess.

Altough now that i have seen that there is a osx 1049 coming osx 1048 seems less intresting suddenly :-)
