uisik34
Hey there, It had been just two days since my macos x86 setup tries and i ve some problem with 10.4.7 release. I installed on my ide harddisk since i heard there may be some problems by installing osx on sata disks. It had been already problem, sata partitions are not seen after my restarts though I have setup on my ide hd. It means my sata controller is not working properly. This also sometimes causes freezes for 2-3 seconds while i am listening music, surfing on web. I also could not install natit driver since my kernel was not supporting it, now i heard it is only possible on 10.4.8 with kernel 8.8.1 or so, not so sure. The only hardware works great is my audio and the rest is suck! I was enable to setup only my ethernet driver and It was also a luck finally to get it worked and I still do not know how it worked! AMD Opteron 165 Dual Core CPU Epox 9NPA+ Ultra Nforce4 Mainboard (Onboard ALC850 Sound Card, Nvidia Ethernet Card) MSI NX6600 Diamond PCI-E VGA Sata Harddisks Skystar2 DVB TV card Philips DVD-W USB devices such as Canon printer, scanner, web cam, plantronic headset Please suggest me the best appropriate release of Mac Osx X86 for my configuration respecting to your earlier tries and experinces. I will be so appreciated in advance for your earlier support and comments. thestevo
Ok, few things. Its best when addressing your hardware issues to be on the latest kernel. Since you have AMD try looking for "MacOSX_10.4.8DVD AMD SSE3 TEST 1" on the Pirate Bay. That should get you on your way. That kernel will allow you to use Natit. I didn't research everything in your system, but off the top of my head I would say that you can get the sound and ethernet to work with appropriate hacks. Printer should work fine if it isn't too old or too new. Burner shouldn't be a problem, use PatchBurn if necessary. Scanner, might have to use VueScan. Webcam, who knows, maybe your lucky and have mac drivers. I don't know what the status is of nForce SATA, but I know that there are plenty of topics out there about it.
