B612
Hi, everybody. After "solving" as much as I could the issues related to GMA900, I am now thinking about getting a new graphic card. As everyone knows there are many options, but I don't know which one to choose, because there are so many aspects to consider, like performance, noise (that's important for me) and compatibility (with MAC and Vista). In the end, I thought about two possible solutions: ATI x1300 XT PCI-Ex NVIDIA 7600GS PCI-Ex Which one would you choose? Which one would work better with MAC? Any other suggestions? THANK YOU! asap18
i believe the 7600gs will have full support with natit and is the best choice. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35864-best-graphic-card/#findComment-255186 Share on other sites

Are you sure it would have full support without installing any patches and without doing anything? I believe I have read somewhere in this forum that there are problems with this card.. am I wrong? asap18
well you have to install Natit if you consider that a patch. In other words you wont have support out of the box, but after you install natit you should. And make sure to get the 256MB version, it seems it is the best one for full support. If you read here you will find a list of all supported cards. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Natit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35864-best-graphic-card/#findComment-255563 Share on other sites

That's the one I was thinking of... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35864-best-graphic-card/#findComment-255568 Share on other sites
B612
So the classification so far is: 1) NVIDIA 7600GS PCI-Ex 2) ATI x1300 XT PCI-Ex ...and what about the ATI X1650 PRO? In which position would you put it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35864-best-graphic-card/#findComment-255580 Share on other sites
zenchicken
I have a 7300GT 512mb and it works perfectly fine with Titan, never had a problem. I'd go the Nvidia way... maybe save some bucks and choose the 7300 GT instead of the 7600GS? But then again it depends if you wanna play games, etc... Normally when I take something I try to take it good. That's the main reason why I got disappointed from the fact I have to take a 256Mb card instead of 512Mb. I know that for the moment the 256Mb will work perfect, but in 1 and a half year it will be old and too slow to run the new things, don't you think so? I think that having the limitation of 256 Mb is just a pity! Are there any other people who use 512Mb Nvidia cards without any problems?!?
