BarryBar Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Let me first say that it great that there now a real 10.4.8 system DVD available. This must a lot of work so all hail to JaS and others who contribute to it I have however several problems with it and here are my questions. 1. When it install in my Intel GNT945 board the USB is different then the previous 10.4.6. USB did not work anymore. It turned that installing with bare options 950GMA support solved this. When I later installed the Soundblaster.USB support pkg the problem returned. So there is something diffrent about USB cenrtianly on GNT945 board like was said also in other threads. 2. More problematic is that the Mac files in files in Windows are now all write protected. And if you want to manage your sytem also form by mean Macdrive form Mediafour you have a problem. theofan1960 Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Hi, I maybe have an answer for number 2. Mac OS X has the ability to mount NTFS partitions (Windows) but cannot write to it. If you're talking about seeing Mac OS partition in Windows MacDrive should see it and if it is stopped correctly should be able to mount the partition. For number 1, try to install without the USB 2.0 patch. The first time I installed it I selected this patch and my USB didn't work but then tried to reinstall without the patch and it then worked. But concerning your USB Audio not working I really don't know if other USB devices are working...
