Greetings!

Been a dedicated Macbook Pro 2012 user for ages, finally got around to do my first Hackintosh Build!

Big Thanks to Chris(SchmockLord) for the repo that did 90% of the work for me !

 And to all the OpenCore and OpenSource contributors that did 90% of the work for him ; -)

I'm going for max performance with minimal power consumption... so I have:

  • Motherboard: AsRock Z490 Phantom ITX TB3
  • CPU: Intel i9 10900t
  • Ram: 64GB (2x 32) Patriot Viper Steel 3200
  • SSD:

I also set up a Power Supply using a DIY "native 12V" UPS:

220AC -> Nico Genius

 -> 12V AGM

 -> DCDC-USB-200

 -> PicoPSU 160

The point of all that is that I can't bear the amount of conversions between AC and DC in a traditional UPS setup.

config.plist is attached.

Its working, boots in less than 45s, but some apps crash immediately with a GPU error (more on that in another thread soon)

In progress image:

Nice job! I hope a good end.

The ADWITS Quad M.2 PCIe Adapter with ASM2824 chip is well recognized by macOS? Does it work well?

So far so good. Only weird thing is that it doesn't show up after osx restart, so I always do a full shutdown and reboot.

I will eventually get around to doing some more in depth performance profiling, but for now i attached the zfs raid 10 results 2 GB/s write and 3.5 GB/s read.

It was a bit higher with Mac OSX software raid 0, and I still want to try the unrecommended zfs raid 0 and maybe also xfs raid 0 to compare.

The Adwits only uses a 8x PCIe 3.0 connection (even though I have it plugged into a 16x slot)... so theoretical max bandwidth should be nearly 8 GB/s.

Have you NVMeFix.kext? To enhance NVMe disks power management.

I did now, but actually the drives don't even show up in the BIOS after a restart, only after a full shutdown.

I will ask ASROCK about it at some point...

I managed to solve the iGPU issue by using the recommended framebuffer with a Coffee Lake device-id !

Still waiting for my Broadcom Wifi/Bluetooth to arrive,

but have the feeling that I should at least be able to get the Bluetooth working on the Intel AX201... another thread will follow if i don't manage soon.

I see that you are working hard :)
The GitHub article is very comprehensive.
Congratulations on what you have achieved so far!
