radan
Hello! First of all iam very grateful to all those people who works with this project. As i see so far isn't the Intel CPU SSE2 working propely with OSX 86. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=34025&hl= I readed this and understanded that Sempthex were working on it! Thats good news i think! My first simple question on this forum is: Should i wait for the patch, or go ahead and try installing Jas DVD 10.4.8 on my Intel SSE2 based computer? My specs: OP: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Versjon 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 Manufacturer Compal Systemmodel E AL50 Type X86-based PC CPU x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1995 Mhz BIOS-versjon/Dato Insyde Software Corporation V1.05, 21.05.2005 SMBIOS-versjon 2.3 Memory 1 024,00 MB have a nice day everyone! McSkywalker
That disk won't work on SSE2 machines. CPU x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1995 Mhz This doesn't give clear info about your CPU.
Luciferin
You should wait for the patch. You can go ahead and try it if you don't believe me, but the current 10.4.8 kernel release will not work without SSE3.
BobOki
I think you guys should ask for the correct things. 10.4.8 IS working for sse2. Now 10.4.8 with the new kernels is not. There is a 10.4.8 combo update for sse2 made by JaS, I have it sitting next to me.
wow
Try it, i had to reinstall 5 times before i really liked it. See it as practise for the real thing

mathdude1284
No, after 'updating" you are still running the old kernel

Of course, the combo update is working, but it doesn't have the 10.4.8 kernel. You have it sitting next to you, I have it installed on my computer Semthex is working to get the 10.4.8 kernel work on SSE2 machines. Maybe a JaS DVD will come later. Again, there's no real 10.4.8 for SSE2 yet -period-.
