duggyb
alright well i just finished getting the JaS.10.4.8.Intel.SSE3.Only.Install.DVD....but i am running into a few burning/booting problems... well anyways the files that were with the download was a txt saying where i got it and the ISO which is 4,588mb(does this seem right?) anyways i am using NERO to burn it...so when i go to burn it everything goes well i select the slowest speed(4x) and it burns it..but when it finishes a little box pops up that says...Burning Started at 4X...im not sure why it says this at the end(and yes i have it set to just burn..not check then burn...but anyways it does..so then it comes to the main burning window and it just says burning started...but the buffer isn't movie..neither the percent complete window....so i don't even know why that comes up...when i put the DVD in it just shows it as a blank DVD... now i wonder if i am burning on the wrong option...like right now i am burning a NO mulitsession DVD-ROM(ISO)........should i be burning it as a DVD-ROM(Boot)?...also do i just have to put the ISO on the DVD or do i need to extract files onto there or something first.......if anyone knows please let me know.. Rammjet
Try burning at the slowest speed possible. Verify that your DVD drive has latest firmware. Clean the lens in the DVD drive. Get different brand media. Try burning in MacOSX using Disk Utility - works fine for me.

duggyb
well my brother came home this weekend....and i burned it on his computer using Nero 7 Edition...and it worked flawlessly the first time...so i know it has to be either my DVD burner..or my software( i am downloading Nero 7 right now anyways) but when i tried to install the DVD i got some problems...i got past every step until the part where i pick which partition i want to install it on.....and the screen is just blank........now i have a 15GB partition set aside for OSX(i did this when i put my new 120GB drive in and installed windows)...but OSX doesn't seem to be picking up on this.......i haven't formatted the partition at all...would this be why? should i format it as like FAT32 or something and then OSX will pick it up? if anyone knows please let me know. Rammjet
You have to go to the Utilities menu and select Disk Utility to format the partition for Mac usage. On the left, choose the partition. On the right, click the Erase tab. Give the partition a name and be sure it is set to MacOS Extended Journaled. Then click the Erase button. Quit Disk Utility and your partition should appear. When you get to the install window, be sure to click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=6330
