Mascot
Hmm, I would think this is the place to put it, but I'm not sure :/ If it's in the wrong place, I'd appreciate if you could move it (: Now, to my problem. Earilier I started to install Mac OS X 10.4.6 (the JaS copy) to get it to run along side with Windows Vista. I installed Mac OS X through Vmware, mounting the disk with daemon tools (I used a couple of different guides) and I managed to get everything to install correctly. I was able to start up 10.4.6 within vmware, complete the assistant, and everyhing else I needed. However, a problem occurs whenever I try to start the Mac OS up without vmware. It starts out loading correctly (with the apple then the little spinner below it on the grey screen) before my computer makes a click noise, and within a minute or two, the screen goes blue (like it would when it normally starts up) but then it will just stall on that screen without a cursor or anything else. Eventually I tried reinstalling Mac OS X through vmware and try to complete the installation without vmware (just booting the partition) but the same thing happens. Right now I'm at a loss of what to do, and I've been trying to search this and google for solutions, but I haven't found a solid one yet. When starting up OS X, I did try with -v to point out errors, but there isn't any problems, and I don't have enough time to take a picture, because it cuts to the blank blue screen. I have an HP dv1000 (1411se to be specific.) It has a Intel 1.5 GHz Processor, DVD-RW drive, SSE2, 512MB ram and a 80GB harddrive that has two partitions, one HFS+ format with Mac OS X and another NTFS with Windows Vista on it. When I installed OSX, I choose the 10.4.6 update along with the Intel SSE2 patches, and that's it :/ I'm not sure what else to add, other than trying to boot from the install disk causes the exact same problem. However, I do get a "Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleHPET" In yellow when I boot with the "-v". I googled and searched here, and they said it shouldn't cause an inablity to boot. I'd appreciate you help! If you need anything else from me, just ask and I'll be glad to give it if it can help (:
Mascot
Hmm, I managed to get some images of the booting with the -v I attached them. (:
Mascot
Actually, I started searching again and I think I found the problem (: I have a question, would updating to Mac OS X 10.4.8 fix my problem, and if it would, is there a way I can do it without downloading the ENTIRE 10.5.8 install DVD by JaS? Well, nevermind. I guess I'm stranded for now :/
Rammjet
the screen goes blue (like it would when it normally starts up) but then it will just stall on that screen without a cursor or anything else. I have an HP dv1000 (1411se to be specific.) Your laptop has Intel 9xx graphics. Many laptop owners with that graphics chip find they have the blue screen problem on boot. You must attach something to the VGA port during boot: a monitor, a VGA dongle, the 2-wire trick or the 1-wire trick
