Rammjet
now wen i boot the disc (jas 10.4.6 osx) i select the language and everything then after the legal i am suposed to check were to instal osx.. there's nothing there!! why is this.? The message is to read for a while before you wallow in like a bull in a china shop. The link above will take you to a whole bunch of installation guides. The first step of the installation is to go to the Utilities menu and select Disk Utility. You need to format the partition for OSX. Select the partition on the left and click on the Erase tab (top-right). Give the partition a name and be sure it is set for MacOS Extended Journaled. Then click the Erase button (bottom). After done, quit Disk Utility. Select your OSX partition in the installer. When you get ready to install, first click on the Customize button and choose packages for your computer. Click on the little arrow to the left of the patches category. Select Intel or AMD packages, not both. Select SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Select the Combo update to get the latest version of OSX. Select other packages only if you are sure your computer can use them.

The M.A.R.T.
YEEEY!! now osx works on my computer (THANKS docmac!!!!!) !! *proud* only thing is.. i cant go online... Depends on which build in ethernet/wifi you have. There are solutions for a couple of them. Just prey you have a Realtek that's supported like the 8139 or up or something like that. They will work like the airport
marcin_177
what exactly does that mean :S?
Rammjet
what exactly does that mean :S? It means you have never shared what your hardware configuration is so we can help you find solutions. It also means that some hardware has no solution in OSX and you had better hope that you have hardware which can be supported. So, what is the brand and model of the device that you use to get on the internet - wireless or ethernet - Realtek 8139, Intel 3945, etc?
consolation
what exactly does that mean :S? Marcin, put your hardware in your signature (podpisz sie). Airport is apple's proprietary wireless solution on "real" macintoshes. Some wireless adapters that use similar chipsets will show up as airports and simplify your life with setups etc...
