Okay, so i used the

setup_var_3 0x5C1 0x00

and got the same result. Same question, so it is now unlocked? Should I not see a new entries in the BIOS/UEFI screens?

And yes, I deleted the KernelPM and AppleIntelCPUPM entries in my clover config.

Everybody’s loving NDK OpenCore at the moment...there’s a clear shift from clover happening with all the die hards on the thread. Fascinating :startreck:

Yeah its interesting and seems to do something to the hw different from Clover.  Switching to OC removes the need for me to use VoodooHDA, sleep/wake with OC and AppleALC does not panic kernel on wake like Clover does, that was enough to make the switch.. Not using NDK but stock OC btw.

Yeah you see that’s a big problem for me.

we actually have a 2 real versions of oc under test now. V055 one dsdt free and done the way OC recommend and a second and in my opinion better version where Texem patched the real version of OC to bypass the dsdt if booting into any other OS.

both work well but using a dsdt sure is the better of the two.

that could change as we perfect things though :)

Nice, Ill be keeping an eye on your findings for sure ;)

V55 seems real nice with your DSDT, just upgraded to 10.15.3 pain free.

I preferred to use stock since it seems like there is less people needing to make a patch here or there to OC code to get additional features as provided with NDK.  I don't need them at this time.  Saying that if there is a potential for a fully working non DSDT build that sure would be interesting..

The main thing that put me off the NDK version was on the NDK thread where he said he was done with development of the mod, just maintaining to keep parity with version upgrades. If one or more who mod the original code for feature x or y get bored or move on then there is potential to be stuck.   I figured screw it, ill move to the main code base and take my chances with that..

na I think you misunderstood what he meant by saying that.

all he ever wanted to achieve were the little things like bypassing dsdt and ssdt in other os and being able to select your boot drive just by selecting it and since he achieved all of that with flying colours there’s nothing left for him to do other then keep it in parity with the real deal. I think that’s a very good thing as he never tried to make he’s own version he just tweeked it and in a lot of people’s opinions made it better and good on him I say.

Understood fine bud, just think since i have OC working as it is from the main code base and i don't need any of the features of the NDK mod then im probably better off and having less risk just using stock since there is less need for others to mod it to get the features i now rely on (if i did).  Anyway not trying to complain or knock the guys work or reasons, im just mentioning why i moved to stock and that we on here are not all on NDK (as per your post i initially replied to).  Good on him (and others) for diving in and making changes useful to him and whoever else, the plist from the NDK EFI on here is what got me going with stock which i probably would not have bothered with had it not been such a simple transition due to this.  So thanks to whoever was involved, its working out real nice !! :)

your spot on there bud,

its improving really fast though so it won't be much longer before it becomes the standard I reckon.

Id say by the end of this year tbh and one other thing I'm noticing is nobody wants to know about doing intel builds anymore or should I say the percentage on new intel hack and normal builds is declining rapidly.

a perfect example is go on YouTube and look for a open core guide that isn't for a Ryzentosh? Its quiet mad.

Also at my day job for every one intel build there 7 Ryzen ones. Only 6 months ago that was the other way around...yikes intel you dropped the ball hard :poster_oops:

Absolutely. Looks really promising. Even at 0.5 it runs amazing given how new it is.

Hey Intel had the reigns since forever. Nice to see AMD pulling the lead on processing power! I'd actually love to see Apple switch to AMD (even tho they'll most definitely just transition to ARM).

Also, if you're ever in need of guinea pigs, hit me up. I have a pretty barebones system. Your EFIs have always worked without no fiddling.

So forgive me if this is a stupid question..

I have the same set up except I am using an MSI Radeon RX570, and I am unsure if perhaps my card (graphics & wifi) are in the same slots.

Can I use the EFI folders provided at the front page and simply edit the graphics config.plist to work with the RX570?

I saw that is was verified that the RX570 works, is there anyone out there using it that would wan't to share there EFI folder with me?

Thanks in advance!

You don’t need to do any editing other then adding your details, there is a EFI for your setup already.

use this one buddy :)

This is Wonderfull!

So I just tried to install the newest Catalina version (10.15.3) but after I select my "install Catalina" external drive and the apple boot screen comes up, I get the big circle with a line through it.

My first question would be, are your current bios settings the same as what you have listed in post #1?

I saw that post 1 referred to using bios 11, so wasn't sure if possibly some things had changed?

cos of the change in EFI and drivers your going to need to do a full bios reset by removing the hack from the mains and then pull the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes and then put it all back load your bios settings and away you go.

hint - save your bios settings as a profile so you can load them back in quickly and painlessly :)

also don’t make any changes to my EFI or add and drivers or usb kexts or anything like that, just add your add your serial details and nothing more and that’s your lot . It’s made to be plug and play so keep it as vanilla as you can :thumbsup_anim:

Bios settings are all correct and updated If need be and there’s also a MSR Unlocked profile that you can just load straight into the bios via profiles and that will give you all the correct settings and a unlocked MSR.

theres info about it in the spoilers on page one.

Very odd, just did as you said and same deal? This was tried using my older 10.15.12 boot drive as well.

I attached the picture as I believe my PCI card is in a different slot (closest to the bottom) as well as my wifi car adaptor and didn't know if that would potentially affect anything? I'm kinda at a loss, should I try the open core version maybe?

Same outcome :(

The only thing I can think of is if I'm missing something in the bios at this point?

Is there a certain USB port I should be using for the install?

I am using a NVME Intel 660p, but that hasn't given me any issues in the past.

Update:

After trying open core (it not working) but then trying the clover again, I no longer get the circle with line.

However, it seems that there is some issue with the USB ports, as my mouse and keyboard are non-responsive (occurring using both different boot drives: 10.15.2 (your first refi) & 10.15.3 (your first efi with the two updated drivers). I have my computer dual booted, and windows works fine so I couldn't think its a bios update issue.

When booting into "install Catalina" I am able to get to the screen where it asks what language I wan't to use, but cannot select anything.

When booting into my old install, I get to the login screen but cannot use mouse or keyboard. I can tell it is not frozen here though as the cursor for my password will blink. The login page will also go to sleep at which point plugging in any usb does not register anything, but I can wake it via my power/restart/sleep button on my desktop case.

Any suggestions?

(edit: Mouse and keyboard use Logitech usb dongle and are recognized as true keyboard/mouse, alternatively tried using older hardwired mouse and have tested all the USB ports. )

What bios revision are you using for your board and just to double check what model board is it?

you have a unique problem going on here as this has never been reported before,

your not trying to add your own usb kext or ssdt are you?

use latest Catalina 10.15.2 or 10.15.3 , prepare install stick using "Treeswitcher" or other way. Install AG's _unmodified_ EFI but your SN,MLB,UUID on that install stick and all is well. Else it's a local problem on your side

I haven't been changing the SN, MLB, UUID, so perhaps that's the problem? How do I go about finding and inserting these values?

When I did a versos boot I get the following error before the "lock" screen boot:

"Warning: Endpoint has been activated through legacy launch(3) APIs"

Doing a little digging, I'm wondering if the Graphics card is throwing the issue, as this Redditor got the same code which was being caused by his graphics card?

NEW Clover Major EFI and DSDT UPDATE, 15th January 2020 (Use With Bios Revision F12d Only or read below)

Important Notice

This New EFI Contains a brand new DSDT made for for the Z390 Pro Bios Revision F12d ONLY,

If you dont want to update your bios and I personally recommend you do then replace the new DSDT with your old F11 DSDT and then you can continue using the F11 bios with the new EFIs.

The EFI and DSDT has now been updated to the my latest version.

Changes made include,

New DSDT's For bios revision F12d ONLY

OcQuirks Revision 12

Whatevergreen 1.3.6

Lilu 1.4.1

AppleALC-1.4.5

VirtualSMC 1.10

MemoryAllocation.efi now added to the UEFI driver folder to fix failure to boot because of memory allocation failures at start up

Clover Updated too Revision 5103

Plus other minor tweaks to the clover config

I have also now created a HD630 IGPU only version of the EFI so for all you people out there that have been asking me for this your wish is my command. :)

If you prefer using SMBios 1,1 then by all means switch to it but all the old problems of using 19,1 are corrected now with this EFI plus DRM is fully working unless you have a Polaris gpu. Just to add, SMBios 19,1 is the correct one to be using for our chipset and cpu, if you check the spec of a real macpro it is not a using a CoffeeLake CPU or Z3xx chipset. It does work perfectly but correct is correct so 19,1 it is.

Please Note, If you use a 5700 or 5700XT then SMBios 1,1 in unstable using the Navi GPUs so please stick to 19,1 with igpu enabled.

Aorus Z390 Pro Vega Navi VII F12d EFI .zip - Use with Bios revision F12d Only (15/01/2020 Catalina 10.15.2 Vega, Navi (5700, 5700xt), Radeon VII DSDT Installed) SMBios 19,1
Aorus Z390 Pro RX Polaris F12d EFI .zip - Use with Bios revision F12d Only (15/01/2020 Catalina 10.15.2 RX5XX Polaris DSDT Installed) SMBios 19,1

PLEASE NOTE - Please flash your motherboard bios to revision F11 to use my current EFI. It’s a major rework of the bios and vital changes have been made to the layout and power tables. New DSDTs have been created and installed into the new EFI’s but will not work correctly with any other bios revision.

Alternative EFI - N-D-K Fork of OpenCore 16th January 2020 Use with Bios revision F12d Only

Big Thanks to @texem for hes countless hours of hard work and help to bring a fully working version of OpenCore using SMBios 19,1 for you all to try.

We have chosen to use N-D-K's Fork of OpenCore as it works happily alongside windows and has a lot of features and changes that I wish were in the original version of OpenCore,

Support on this thread for these EFIs won't be great but @texem and myself will help out where we can.

PLEASE NOTE - All bios settings and guide notes are the same for these EFI's and the SMBios is now set to 19,1

N-D-K OpenCore Navi Vega VII F12d EFI.zip - Vega 56/64 Navi (5700/5700XT) & Radeon VII DSDT Bios F12d

N-D-K OpenCore RX Polaris F12d EFI.zip - RX Polaris Series DSDT Bios F12d

PlistEdit Pro.zip - PlistEdit Pro (use to edit OpenCore)

Using PlistEdit Pro add your details by modifying the following

PLEASE NOTE - These EFIs are setup to be used with your msr Unlocked so make sure you use the F12d Unlocked Profile but if for any reason you can not unlock MSR then just modify following in the OpenCore config.plist :

To Create Your Own Patched DSDT Message @MaLd0n using the link bellow

(If you want a perfect setup then getting your own patched DSDT made would be the best thing to do, Mine will work perfectly fine but different hardware no matter how small a change it is can tend to have some sort of effect on the DSDT and your setup)

I have moved on with this and do not use my HP G2 for Hackintosh, its mainly used for Kali Linux for Packet analysis these days, with that said I am using the HP 840 G3 for Hackintosh. I transitioned to OpenCore and Big Sur for this laptop but feel free to continue to ask questions.

My G3 has the BCM84360CS2 mod, I got the module from eBay for $10 and the adapter for $10 off amazon.

Big Sur Beta 5 is working using the below EFI folder. OpenCore 6.1.0 and latest kexts

      Method: USB Big Sur installation
Create an Big Sur Beta5 or Catalina USB installer (google is your friend here, plenty of tutorials there) Mount the EFI partition of your USB installer using Clover Configurator Copy the EFI file attached here. Boot your laptop using F9 and choose the USB installer and follow the prompts

Catalina and old method in the Spoiler

Credits go to Jake Lo for creating this EFI file. I did make some changes to his, this one is Open Core 6.1.0 and latest Lilu.kext and WhatEverGreen.kext

My spec Ryzen 9 3900x and Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC motherboard.
I installed Cataliana on my system .. everything looking perfect exept ethernet. Installed LucyRTL8125Ethernet.kext and ethernet is showing on network window but no internet connection. Adjusted hardware settings in network as Manually/100baseTX/full-duplex, flow-control but issue not fixed.
      Please help me.

      Thanks is advance.

      Hi

I recently built my 1st ryzentosh.
I also used Opencore (0.6.1) for the 1st time and followed the install guides on Dortania.

Now I need to map my USB ports and apparently it's not achieved the same way on AMD platforms compared to what I was "used to" on Intel platforms.

The guide on Dortania is a bit confusing to me since there is information that is not clearly labelled as "for Intel" or "for AMD" and I thus don't understand very well what I should and shouldn't do.

Can anyone give me advice or point towards as comprehensive tutorial intended for AMD-based builds.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

      Best,
      -a-

In this thread, I have fully documented the installation of macOS Catalina on my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini. It is a PERFECT HackMini8,1 and is running very well for me without any issues. I hope this documentation helps you to install macOS on your hack. Please leave feedback if you think there is anything I can improve and let me know if you have any questions.
      **********************************************************************************

      Background
This is my first "modern" hack supporting UEFI and my first hack using Clover "on-the-fly" patches.  My previous hacks
Laptop: Thinkpad T61 / Nvidia NVS 140m Laptop: Dell Latitude E6410 / Nvidia G3100m Desktop: Gigabyte G31 / GeForce 9600 Desktop: Biostar TH55HD / Sapphire Pulse RX580 (Google "Catalina Biostar TH55HD" and look for user name deeveedee)
are all perfectly running Catalina and I patched them all "manually" - all DSDT patches applied with MaciSL with virtually no Clover on-the-fly patching and all booted Legacy Clover.  This UEFI hack was MUCH easier and took about 20 hours vs. a combined hundreds of hours for the old hacks.  I wanted a hack that was a little more future proof and I think this is it.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I am enjoying it.  It is a perfect MacMini8,1.

      My system specs
      HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini (I7-8700T / UHD 630 / Q370 Chipset / 32GB DDR4 RAM) 3 x DP Ports (connected to monitors using DP -> DVI adapters) 6 x USB 3.1 1 x USB Type-C 3.1 2 x NVMe SSD (M.2 PCIe x4 2280/2230 combo ports) 1 x SATA6 SSD 1 x Intel Ethernet RJ-45 Conexant CX20632 Audio Codec Unsupported M.2 PCIe x1 2230 Intel Wi-Fi.  A possible solution is here, but I am NOT offering any support for this.

      What is not working
      Microphone port
      What is not tested
USB c 3.1 port (I have partially tested the USB 3 functionality of the port and it seems to be working fine with the SSDT-UIAC.aml in the attached EliteDesk800.zip archive) Wi-Fi / Bluetooth (intentional since I have not yet replaced my Intel card). A possible solution is here, but I am not offering any support for this.

      What is working
Everything not mentioned above Sleep / Wake Multiple displays with IGPU graphics acceleration, hot pluggable display ports and DP->DVI adapters USB 3.1 ports Audio (internal speaker and headphone jack) Ethernet Auto-sensing headphone jack automatically switches to internal speaker when headphones removed
