Hiya,

I have an update on my bluetooth and WiFi, everything has been working fine, anyway I was just sat here and all my BT devices stopped working, then I got the notification that XX Wasn't ejected probably, I then connected my USB receiver and switch my MX Master 3 to "usb mode" to shut down, still nothing. Turns out it may be a usb issue? Where do we go from here?

Edit: Whoops XHCI was disabled.

Thanks

Now opencore loads however after boot I get a blackscreen with two little coloured squares

for a test remove "agdpmod=pikera" and "shikigva=80" if in config.plist.

There must be something with HDMI/DP and WEG - well it helps only if OC is alive when you get your squares

I looked at the front page but I don't see one for igpu with f11 bios

I only started doing igpu EFIs from F12d but all you need to do is download a F11 dsdt and replace the F12d one and away you go

Currently running the F11 BIOS on z390 Pro WiFi with a 5700XT and everything works apart from sleep. The issue I have is that it wakes up straight away and this started since I installed the AWAB wifi combo card. Pretty sure the problem is the USB connection for the WiFi card waking things up.

Anyone else had this issue and know a fix?

Also if I upgrade to F12 BIOS do I keep my config.plist with all my serial number info and changes or do I have to start again?

@geekiegeek Just copy over your serial uuid and MLB info to the new Navi EFI and your done. ( it’s perfect for your build trust me buddy)

update your bios to F12d if you do so.

as for your sleep problem it sound like proximity wake is on so go into hackintool and check your power settings there and correct them. It’s a one click repair. ;)

@AudioGod

Updated the bios to f12d and booted up with the new HD630 Z390 Pro F12d EFI.zip .  However it doesn't boot properly after the clover bootloader.

I removed Shikigva=80 and it has booted fine,

What USB kext do I need for the h100i, I may actually get working sleep.... BTW I get something flash about NVRAM before the boot select screen.

EDIT: Definitely don't have working NVRAM "nvram: Error clearing firmware variables: (iokit/common) not permitted"

Best thing you can do for the h100i is disconnect it from the internal usb header.

macos doesn’t use it or understand it and the h100i doesn’t use it unless your using icue in windows to change colours or curves or update its firmware. That’s it’s only use so just pull it from the system and plug it in if you ever want to use it in windows.

Really silly question will the pump still work, will the fans still ramp up?

Also I edited my post, I don't have working NVRAM.

Yes everything will work exactly the same, the fans are controlled by the h100i and it’s settings are stored in its firmware and the pump works the same way but gets its power from the sata power connection.

Ok, is there a way to just tell macOS to ignore it?

No, you can't tell macOS to ignore your cooling system.

Ok,

Also I just updated to 10.15.2 and got a error "Critical Error, no load image, halting" something like that, I managed to boot with my OC USB and all seems fine but anyone know what causes that?

Also in my boot devices I still have Clover boot.efi?????

Thanks

This is just to report that I upgraded to macOS Catalina 10.15.3 and everything seems to be super OK with the OpenCore variant.

Quick question about CFG LOCK. I followed instructions here:

https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/extras/msr-lock

and now all I see in log is:

0:100  0:000  MSR 0xE2 before patch 1E000000

Also when I test using GRUB shell is shows that variable (which was at 0x5C1) as 0x00.

Does this mean I have unlocked it?

Updated to the public release of 10.15.3. Works fine but the update process killed my EFI clover entry for some reason. Had to restore it using BOOTICE. But both Clover and OC run it fine.

One thing I noticed using OC is that I got little sporadic stutters. It's nice, feels really native, but tbh, Clover operates much smoother. OC looks amazing, but it's still pretty soon in the development cycle to rely on it for a production system.

That guide is wrong. Do not use setup_var 0x5C1 0x00, it will error out and not actually apply the variable. You have to use setup_var_3. You'll still receive the error, but it will patch the firmware regardless. Read more here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/successfully-patched-z170x-ud5-th-cfg-lock-msr-ex02.253466/page-2#post-1847437 (see reply #26 for more details on using setup_var_3).

your spot on there bud,

its improving really fast though so it won't be much longer before it becomes the standard I reckon.

Id say by the end of this year tbh and one other thing I'm noticing is nobody wants to know about doing intel builds anymore or should I say the percentage on new intel hack and normal builds is declining rapidly.

a perfect example is go on YouTube and look for a open core guide that isn't for a Ryzentosh? Its quiet mad.

Also at my day job for every one intel build there 7 Ryzen ones. Only 6 months ago that was the other way around...yikes intel you dropped the ball hard :poster_oops:

In this thread, I have fully documented the installation of macOS Catalina on my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini. It is a PERFECT HackMini8,1 and is running very well for me without any issues. I hope this documentation helps you to install macOS on your hack. Please leave feedback if you think there is anything I can improve and let me know if you have any questions.

      Background
This is my first "modern" hack supporting UEFI and my first hack using Clover "on-the-fly" patches.  My previous hacks

are all perfectly running Catalina and I patched them all "manually" - all DSDT patches applied with MaciSL with virtually no Clover on-the-fly patching and all booted Legacy Clover.  This UEFI hack was MUCH easier and took about 20 hours vs. a combined hundreds of hours for the old hacks.  I wanted a hack that was a little more future proof and I think this is it.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I am enjoying it.  It is a perfect MacMini8,1.

I have put together this simple little guide for anybody wanting to use a Patched DSDT EFI with the same configuration as me.
This is also a thread to discuss everything Z390 Master and try and help where we can and maybe make things a little better for you.

A huge massive thank you to @glasgood @MaLd0n @larabee These three guys have helped me and talked me so much and are as helpful as you could ever get, Without them I wouldn't have a perfect working build like I do or be putting up this Guide & Discussion Thread sharing the hard work and countless hours that we have all put in to this.

This EFI and Patched DSDT have been created to work with a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master using bios revision F11L, 9900k with a 5700 XT but has also been tested and verified fully working with the following Hardware

      CPU's
      8600K, 8700, 8700K, 9400K, 9600K, 9700K, 9900K, 9900KS (All KF Models work but use SMBios iMacPro1,1 instead)

      GPU's
      RX 560, 570, 580, 590, Vega 56, Vega 64, Radion VII, RX 5500, 5500 XT, 5600, 5600 XT, 5700, 5700 XT
(If you have success with any different CPU or GPU's then please do let me know)

@glasgood Has kindly put together a new simple Catalina install guide so Just Follow He's Guide For a Perfect Install. (glasgood put the guide together for the Z390 Pro but the two boards are so alike that you can follow this guide with no problems at all using the Z390 Master)

Please Note - I have now set KernelPM to No as standard so if you don’t have a unlocked MSR or not using my MSR Unlocked Bios Profile then go into the Clover Config.plist and set KernelPM to Yes or you won’t be able to boot up. An even better fix would be to unlock your MSR using my profile method.

Note - If your not using a 5700 XT or any other Navi GPU then remove agdpmod=pikera from the boot arguments.

OpenCore EFI Update v0.6.2 - 05/10/2020 (Big Sur Ready)
Myself and @texem have now created a OpenCore EFI done the way the OpenCore Devs intended it to be made, There is no DSDT in use so you can use this EFI on any supported GPU and the SSDTs have been made so they will not be used in any other Operating System apart from MacOS.

Note 2 - Do not try to carry across your old OpenCore Config.plist to the new EFI as to many changes have occurred in 0.6.0 so please use the new Config.plist instead.

I have moved on with this and do not use my HP G2 for Hackintosh, its mainly used for Kali Linux for Packet analysis these days, with that said I am using the HP 840 G3 for Hackintosh. I transitioned to OpenCore and Big Sur for this laptop but feel free to continue to ask questions.

My G3 has the BCM84360CS2 mod, I got the module from eBay for $10 and the adapter for $10 off amazon.

Big Sur Beta 5 is working using the below EFI folder. OpenCore 6.1.0 and latest kexts

      Method: USB Big Sur installation
Create an Big Sur Beta5 or Catalina USB installer (google is your friend here, plenty of tutorials there) Mount the EFI partition of your USB installer using Clover Configurator Copy the EFI file attached here. Boot your laptop using F9 and choose the USB installer and follow the prompts
