no problem buddy, at least you have a correctly setup EFI now.

ask MaLD0n, he will patch the ssdt for you using the Efi I made. Send it to him and explain what you need doing and he will patch it.

theres a link to him on my main guide under dsdt requests.

@mazagngy

make sure you have the igpu set as the main gpu in the bios

it will be set like this if you haven’t changed it,

Settings -> IO Ports -> Internal Display Output -> PCIe 1 Slot

Change PCIe 1 slot to the igpu and try again and let me know? (That’s if your not doing that already)

Time Machine is super slow :( I have a Lacie Rugged Thunderbolt and it took 3 freakin’ hours to restore last time on my MBP.

I’m really puzzled with your unlock issue (maybe more than I was with mine) so keep me posted :)

My Time Machine simply stopped working in October. I have tried everything to get it to work again but it just doesn’t. I have no idea if it is Hack related, my new rig, or just Apple weirdness.

Ok I’m just checking there’s not a load of junk in your ssd making your system clunky,

that’s all I can think of for now in that case, over too MalLd0n for the fix.

Great guide, used this along with Glasgoods guide and have a working system with an RX580 and i7 9700K. One question I have is that I've ordered a 5700 XT and was wondering what's involved in upgrading from the RX580? Is it just a case of swapping the DSDT file?

I'm new to Hackintosh so please treat me as a complete N00B.

Thank you :)

Yes exactly that buddy just make sure you switch the dsdt and also add the following boot arguments to the clover config.

agdpmod=pikera
shikigva=80

@AudioGod I'll be more than happy to be the guinea pig :) to try the new EFI.

My previous Mojave went havoc and my hackintosh is completely useless.  I've been trying to re-install with the newly available EFI (Jan 3rd one) as well as the older one I had, but no dice.

looking forward to the new EFI which i want to try with Catalina

It should just work, I’ve looked into it and I think it’s just like @WizeMan said and a macOS bug. That’s why I posted my replay as a follow up to he’s message as the tool I sent you would be the next best way around it.

Thanks for your help.

Let's hope Apple fixes some time this bug, as it should also effect all the egpu's around.

This is not actually a bug, it is just that Macs do not natively support the CEC protocol for controlling devices connected via DisplayPort / HDMI etc

Hmm, basically you are right, but:

Under windows, i do not control the volume of the display/speakers - I do only adjust the output volume. So it does not use CEC protocol. (the volume set on the monitor is always set to a fixed volume in my case)

When using the "MonitorControl" Tool it in fact uses the CEC protocol, as i see the volume change of the monitor with the GUI. (so i change the volume on the monitor directly)

So i wonder why MacOS is not able to adjust the output volume like Windows.

your forgetting a very important part if the puzzle in all this brother.

Its Apple so what else do you expect?

its there way or the highway when it comes to how hardware works on there systems.

why do you think there’s no Nvidia gpu support?

WoW Thats awesome!

So many years working with my Mac Pro using the buttons in my monitor and never hear about that!

Also check out https://github.com/fnesveda/ExternalDisplayBrightness if you have an AppleKeyboard. It works OOB and binds the brightness to the proper keys (F1 and F2). It doesn't handle the volume either for those that have external speakers. No menu bar icon either. It's also a lot snappier.

      I have put together this simple little guide for anybody wanting to use a Patched DSDT EFI with the same configuration as me.
      This is also a thread to discuss everything Z390 Master and try and help where we can and maybe make things a little better for you.

      A huge massive thank you to @glasgood @MaLd0n @larabee These three guys have helped me and talked me so much and are as helpful as you could ever get, Without them I wouldn't have a perfect working build like I do or be putting up this Guide & Discussion Thread sharing the hard work and countless hours that we have all put in to this.

      This EFI and Patched DSDT have been created to work with a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master using bios revision F10, 9900k with a Vega 56 but has also been tested and verified fully working with the following Hardware

      CPU's
      8600K, 8700K, 9600K, 9700K, 9900K, 9900KS

      GPU's
      RX 560, 570, 580, 590, Vega 56, Vega 64, Radion VII, 5700, 5700 XT
      (If you have success with any different CPU or GPU's then please do let me know)

       @glasgood Has kindly put together a new simple Catalina install guide so Just Follow He's Guide For a Perfect Install. (glasgood put the guide together for the Z390 Pro but the two boards are so alike that you can follow this guide with no problems at all using the Z390 Master)

      HARDWARE USED
