the solution to that is DevirtualiseMmio=true, which causes an early kernel crash... I heard whitelisting did not work, but it's not a report I trust. I expected you did all that already

i miss latest part (whitelisting) because i have understood you say it was not useful

DevirtualizeMmio produces an early kernel crash as you said (not info from this on screen)

Edit

sorry seen now offtopic message

I'm surprised to see OpenCore almost working 100% on my first try...

I have one issue that I'm not sure how to debug... I use a separate encrypted APFS NVME that contains all of my /Users data. This disk normally auto mounts at boot, but I've noticed that it no longer works when I boot with OpenCore (Note it works fine booting though Clover).

When I open the disk utility, I can see the disk, but it's greyed out and I don't seem to have an option to decrypt/mount the disk. It feels like File Vault is simply non-functional. When I read through the OpenCore related data, it mentions how AppleImageLoader is not needed so I never bother loading it into my configuration.

Not an expert by any means but:

Get rid of all clover stuff

clean out kexts to only necessary ones

compile latest OC and create new config.plist using sample in doc's folder

I run a z390 board with a 580 and need no boot arg. i would think that is true on a 370 board

It is necessary to read the Reference Manual to get a viable system

Hmm I followed the vanilla guide pretty exactly at first but that didn't work so I started porting over what worked on my clover config and still no luck. I'll try one more time but I'm not really expecting any different result.

Hi @nmano, could you please explain why do you use patches for XCPM support for Xeons in a separate topic? OpenCore should have these builtin as explained in https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/365. We got a question from a user who found this and got very confused as this is definitely not what we designed.

  • Cpuid1Data/Cpuid1Mask are a replacement for xcpm_bootstrap patch (and FakeCPUID), and they should really be <d4 06 03 00 (fake id)…> <ff ff ff ff… all zeroes> correspondingly.
  • AppleXcpmCfgLock and AppleXcpmExtraMsrs should cover all the other patches

Perhaps something went wrong? Could you please provide us with the details?

@nmano why do you need of those Patches?

Your CPU inserted on an ASUS x299 Sage 10g does not need any pathcing for it..only msr unlock to enable in motherboard bios
gigabyte x299 should also be unlocked (x299 designare ex was)

Then it turns out cpu emulation is not working ?

@pitrysha, in your archive you fake to a CPU without XCPM support, I don't know what for and hot it is supposed to work. Most likely it should be d4 06 03 or c3 06 03.

Thanks . Everything works .

Still I have to fix

ProcessorType not work properly.

If I run Geekbench 5 restart my system before report.

This topic for X99 XCPM patches get CPU p-States and CPU C3-Cores.

@pitrysha, thanks for the test, this makes good sense to me.

@nmano, you do not understand what Cpuid1Data and Cpuid1Mask are, your values are garbage. See what @pitrysha did.

Cpuid1Data D4060300 00000000 00000000 00000000

Cpuid1Mask FFFFFFFF 00000000 00000000 00000000

As for ProcessorType, you set 0xF01, but it is only compatible with 8, 10, 14, or 18 cores.

Attached are some bootlogs achieved with opencore 0.53 debug version

I have used two different rigs (AMD rigs) thanks to @iCanaro of macos86.it for his working 3950x system

3950x is working

3970x is not working
I would like to understand if also for opencore devs these logs seem similar as it seems to me..so problem is not related with bootloader itself but maybe some missing patches

Inside also a clover debug log

Thank you for your time and skills!

@fabiosun, from the logs it looks like boot failed at boot.efi stage. Most likely due to memory allocation failure. Unfortunately we do not know any resolution at the moment and we also have no plans to perform any investigation as AMD is not a priority for us for the time being.

@nmano cpu is not of a type you say above and it is working without faking a bad  cpu type

If  do not enable the CPU Emulate or Patch _xcpm_bootstrap © Pike R. Alpha, the system will not boot. Сan enable PMDrvr.text instead. How right?

Hi, I made sure I got the right kexts and bios settings for my system, and followed every step I could take on Dortania's opencore github guide but I was met with kernel panic. I sanity checked my config.plist and made sure I had the exact settings for my Whiskey Lake laptop. I've dumped my DDST and generated SSDTs using the SSDTTime method, except XOSI (I tried manually recompiling the GPIO SSDT but I also got the same kernel error). I made sure I deleted unnecessary kexts and ACPIs. I'm thinking that my Zenbook laptop has a specific way of handling Hackintosh. If anyone could take a look into my EFI folder and find what's causing them It would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi all!!

After using my old Dell Clover convert for a few years, I recently built a new Catalina box using OpenCore.  Everything works perfectly and has been very stable.  The only thing that is not working is unlocking with my Apple Watch.  The screen says "Unlocking with Apple Watch" with the spinning graphic and then just prompts for my password.  It does not shake or anything as if the password is incorrect.  My 2014 MBP unlocks without issue and they both use the same iCloud account.  I purchased the Fenvi FV-T919 pci-e adapter and BT, WIFI, Handoff, and Airdrop are all working without issue.  I confirmed in system preferences that unlock is supported and made sure that automatic login is disabled in my profile.  I have cleared keys out of the keystore, restarted a number of times, logged out and back into iCloud all to no avail.  Anyone else having this issue?  Thanks in advance!!

      More info my build:

      Hi all,

I have been trying to install Big sur on Opencore and i believe i'm almost there but i get stuck on a grey screen with my mouse pointer just before i can see the installer screen.
I have applied the various SSDT patches for X99. I thought that was linked to VirtualSMC which I replaced by FakeSMC but same issue. I also declared my graphic card in config.plist as i thought it could come from there but that's not the issue (Radeon RX 570).
I have been scratching my head for some time now. Any idea from anyone please.

I have attached my EFI folder and my ioreg extract. Let me know if you need anything else.

      Thanks a million.

      My config:

      Core-i7 5960x
      Radeon RX 570

      @jmacie
I would appreciate your help please. Any views of what could be wrong? Thanks a lot
