Great work, MaLd0n!

Same motherboard with 8700K and MSI RX580 8G. Working fine with Clover for me but get Kernel Panic when I try with OpenCore.

I worked with this guide (https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/config.plist/coffee-lake) and also referred to your “OPENCORE FOLDER” for GA Z390 DESIGNARE, but the same Kernel Panic.

Have you used OpenCore with Z390 M Gaming or will you do so?

Cool! I just copy your EFI folder to my EFI partition and so far so good!:thumbsup_anim:

Using for 1 hour and just find something wrong with the bluetooth. Maybe a USB problem and I think could handle it. I’m using iMac19,1 SMBIOS with Clover now so I will refer to your iMacPro1,1 OpenCore settings and try to modify my own iMac19,1 OpenCore folder.

Thanks a lot and maybe ask you some questions again when I try with iMac19,1 SMBIOS:D

@MaLd0n Hey, first of all thanks alot for this guide! It was the only one that let me install and boot on my new Z390 M Gaming.

The only problem I have is, that I don't have video hardware acceleration (Preview with images doesn't work, for example).

AFAIK, I have to enable iGPU in the bios to make it work. But whenever I set it from auto to enable, I can't boot anymore and get a Couldn't allocate runtime area error.

Do you have any idea what the problem could be or how to fix it?

My system: 8700k, Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming, Vega56 running Mojave 10.14.6 (18G95)

Well, the iGPU seems to work when I delete WAG and add 0x3E980003 as AAPL,ig-platform-id.

If you have a working Brightness Slider and you might be using Brightness slider or manual hotkeys to control brightness then this guide may help you to use your Native hotkeys of laptop.

(All the Credits goes to @RehabMan     For OS-X-ACPI-Debug Kext and DSDT Patches.)

This step assumes that you are using RehabMan's VoodooPS2Controller
Install the kext: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Debug Open MaciASL and click on patch.(Add rehab man repo) Apply "Add DSDT Debug Methods" and "Instrument EC Queries" that are under Brightness Fix. Save the DSDT and restart Look in Syslog as you press the key corresponding to brightness to determine which _QXX methods handle the keys (UPDATE: From Sierra Apple changed logging process. So you won't find ACPIdebug result using syslog command. Instead use following command )
log show --last 5 | grep ACPIDebug 6. Then patch DSDT:
      into method label _Q1D replace_content begin // Brightness Down\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0205)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0285)\n end; into method label _Q1C replace_content begin // Brightness Up\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0206)\n Notify(\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.PS2M, 0x0286)\n end; Change the variable _Q1D/_Q1C as per the log.

      7. Try compiling and check if it generates errors
      8. If it does, then change the PS2M to PS2X according to the one found in your DSDT
      9. Save and place the compiled DSDT.
      10. Now you should see that you have your corresponding keys to change your brightness

Hi, I have an MSI 945gcm5 v2 and was wondering if it's possible to run Hackintosh High Sierra on this board? It will run Lion, but my guess is that the chipset and various other factors will prevent an upgrade to High Sierra. Any thoughts?

I have a hackintosh running 10.13.5 (High Serria) that works except it doesn't shutdown properly and it doesn't seem to be going to sleep.

Here are some diagnostics that I gathered

Davids-MacBook-Air-2:~ davidozersky$ sudo pmset -g Password: System-wide power settings: Currently in use: hibernatemode 0 womp 0 networkoversleep 0 sleep 5 (sleep prevented by diskmanagementd, UserEventAgent, mds, diskarbitrationd, coreaudiod, mds_stores, Disk Utility) Sleep On Power Button 1 ttyskeepawake 1 hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage disksleep 10 displaysleep 5
And I've attached files from a RunMe utility app I've found online.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you,
      David

Whether my updated but old installer, a fresh installer or from the hard drive, this is as far as it gets and I simply can't figure it out. That last line is the end of the boot sequence all the time.

I might have to swap the Z370 back in (only swapped it because I can't get into the BIOS, it only presents a black screen otherwise it was working fine)

      Thanks a ton in advance.

EDIT: Reinstalled the Z370 and it boots again. I wish I had a lot more time to figure it out.

I have put together this simple little guide for anybody wanting to use a Patched DSDT EFI with the same configuration as me.
This is also a thread to discuss everything Z390 Pro and try and help where we can and maybe make things a little better for you.

A huge massive thank you to @glasgood @MaLd0n @larabee These three guys have helped me and talked me so much and are as helpful as you could ever get, Without them I wouldn't have a perfect working build like I do or be putting up this Guide & Discussion Thread sharing the hard work and countless hours that we have all put in to this.

This EFI and Patched DSDT have been created to work with a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Pro, 9900k with a Vega 56 but has also been tested and verified fully working with the following Hardware

      CPU's
      8700k, 9600k, 9700k, 9900k

      GPU's

(If you have success with any different CPU or GPU's then please do let me know)
