Rhythms
Hey guys. I too have a Vega 56 card (MSI Air Boost OC), with fans stuck on max speed. This is especially bad, as I am a recording/music producer, so I need a quiet machine. I read the comments on the thread "Vega Frontier Edition on High Sierra" (https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/325120-vega-frontier-edition-on-high-sierra/), and it looks like something there might solve my problem. The problem is, I can't understand the language they were using. I am not that well versed with this kind of stuff. After tinkering around with things like Clover and #####, and trying to follow instructions for a couple of hours, I got nowhere. My computer is also a Mac Pro, which may be part of the problem (I don't know). I couldn't see anything in the rules about no Mac Pro posts on this forum, but if I am breaking any rules, let me know, and I apologise. Can anyone break down for me how to implement some changes so that my fan speed will go back to normal? Thanks for any help you can provide! Here are the important specs of my machine: Mac Pro, 2010, 5.1 OS: Mojave, Version 10.14 GPU: MSI Vega 56 Air Boost OC, 8176 MB CPU: 2 x 3.46 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon RAM: 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Edited February 22, 2019 by Rhythms Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337712-beginner-needing-help-with-vega-56-fan-speed-stuck-on-max/ Share on other sites
